"COR isn't a DD."

I hate ignorant people like that... I've seen some COR do awesome damage before. People are just so conditioned to thinking DRK SAM and WAR are the only "DD" that exist, though. :/ But don't let it get ya down, bud.

Any one of you guys find this insulting?
Although I'm slightly biased, I think that COR > BRD for Nyzul. BRD takes too long to get buffs up. COR can get buffs up, and either pull or DD with no problem. You should try to get a BLU with a COR as the buffer though, light-based dispel is handy with Soulflayers, but in most groups BLUs are common because of the sheer amount of dmg/spell they do in nyzul.

With most pick up sam's these days, I woulda taken him up on his offer and tried to out dd his sam.

Oh boy... Yes he was wrong about COR damage, but when people try to pick fights like you did it's just as annoying. He doesn't want a Cor, just let it be.

Corsair can do pretty respectable damage. On weak mobs, everyone can do pretty respectable damage. Corsair is a weaker DD than a pure DD, why? Because it does more than DD. Go figure.
It's not that he was wrong, it was that he was overestimating what he needed for a nyzul. If mediocre people can do it, then someone as militant as you exerting significantly more effort should be able to do it too.
Out damaging people proves nothing about the full potential of the job. If you're a better player, or if you care more and engage faster, you can out damage them.

Personally it looks like you provoked him into that argument. I'm also inclined to agree with him. Maybe on climbing the floors sure, but on a boss floor? yeah ill take an extra full DD for the boss over a COR if i already have a BRD.

this is something like a conversation i had with a cor the other day. He actually said its more expensive ranger, but thats not what got me mad....he actually said "cor makes rng look like a poor mans job" lol. i ended up going on a huge rant and everyone thought i was bitching about cor doing dmg lol.

Really to be honest. Depends what your doing. I heard COR when subbing NIN are awesome kiters in Nyzul Isle. Mind you I only heard that. I heard in Dynamis /BLU is a great sub for COR. I hear a lot of things. Some people are so costumed to one thing that yea, it makes some close minded. I would have been like whatever dude, your loss. Hopped on a differ group. Some people are willing to see what we can do along side buffing, some aren't.

If I was the shouter I'd blist you. He is shouting for DDs, not someone to argue with about what DD means and how he should have shouted. Also it's his key, his tokens not yours so either get your own F40 key or deal with it. IMO I'd take anyone over your ArgentCOR. *'-'

Cor isn't more expensive than rng, it's more inneffecient per level. You can't use a gun with weak ass bullets from the starting levels. You can't opt for a crossbow path (which would really jazz up the support-side corsair with acidbolts for TP and metal/CP bolt for ws). And the QD MAB setup would do wonders for holy-bolts.
On the topic, cor+brd is better than brd+dd. Tear through 'all monster' floors with ease opening up more time for Boss and casting lots on loot / kick afk ppl that dunno how to pass.

My dps is better than yours,
Whooptido, you can pull out as much as 5k as a Sam. Let me know if the guy ever plays a drk or a war and dishes that amount out. it dont take much skill to
play a sam.

If it was a group of friends I'd have the brd change to a DD job and have the cor come along.
In a shout group, there's no reason to take a corsair over a samurai. If you KNOW the corsair is really well geared and a good player and the samurai is crap, then maybe. Otherwise, the corsair is not going to outdo the samurai. Corsair can do damage, but it's primary role is not to DD.
I only know of maybe two other corsairs on Seraph that can even keep four rolls going at once and still contribute significantly in the damage department. Hell, most of them can't even handle three rolls and still manage to do anything worthwhile.
I'm not saying you're wrong, per se, but neither is he. And while in a familiar setting with friends your argument would have more merit, as it is, I think once you got rejected you just started looking for a fight. Corsair can deal damage, but that doesn't mean it's primary role is to be a damage dealer, and therein lies the difference and the crux of this argument. Already having a bard, they were probably better off with another job more dedicated to DD. Whether they -could- make it work with you is irrelevant; it was easier for them to do it in a different fashion, and that's what they chose.

I personally don't take Corsairs to Boss runs. But they are fine for floor clearing runs.

why wouldn't you take a COR on a boss floors? Even if you have a BRD already 2 "heavy DD" buffed out the ass w/ COR and BRD song/rolls makes bosses easy mode .

I agree with the guy, if someone already has a bard I have no expectation of them bringing me as well as a brd when they need another DD. Unless the DD they bring is complete and utter crap we are not going to our parse them.
