Alexander is THE avatar of light. He is not an automaton but he can possess machines and stuff (like he does at the end of ToAU possessing the Iron Colossus) just like Odin can use his Dark Rider to freely manifest himself.

seeing as a confirmed job adjustment is looming over the horizon and they will be telling us exactly how.. I'm more for the idea of not speculating and just waiting for it to be announced first..

I'm quite sure that if the adjustment is the addition of avatars they'll have one single line and say something like:
"New summoning magic will be added" with no pictures at all lol.

I'm pretty positive it won't be Odin/Alexander either since if it was either of them I'd assume they'd be out now considering the last ToAU content we got was over a year ago.

You are right and wrong at same time. Yes, avatars usually come faster (diabolos did to some extent), but you have to remember that for the last few years SE has been fully at work on FF14, which is why content has been so lame lately (meaning slow development of wotg and TOAU, no endgame for wotg yet, the incredibly lame mini-expansions and the massive amount of content for lower levels). Which means they have derailed content management from FFXI to FF14, which could very well account for the slow avatar development as well.

uhm, they more than likely have a separate dev team for 14 so the whole "they're working on 14" is a piss poor excuse.

oh and I bet 40 bucks some tard is going to make a new thread about avatar speculation with the update news.

TOAU is not finnished yet, there is still another 100+ floors in Nyzlue Isle etc. So I wouldn't vote Odin/Alexander off the list just yet.

Actually the same team is working on FFXIV. We've had very slow updates this year and most of them weren't even that great to begin with. They also said they have no plans after Shantotto's expansion right now so I really doubt that there's a full team working on XI.
I didn't know that there were more floors of Nyzul lol... I wonder if there is a plan for them or not. Yeah, ToAU doesn't seem completed to me as well. There are still a few questions I have that hopefully will find their answer (especially Odin and Alexander and their astral gates, it's a shame to hint at them and then don't even use them).

Yeah I read the Nyzul thing on JP Button, you might be able to dig it up, if you trail back far enough.

Also in Einherjar they are considering more items to give but nothing in motion yet....

Its time to start camping POL Windows soon I think

If no Avatars come with this update I wouldn't be surprised to see 85% of the summoners leave the game.

That doesn't mean anything, for all we know SE intended to have 250ish floors but decided to scrape that idea and only use 100 floors.

There's plenty of crap/features in the game that SE hasn't implied.

Considering that Beastmaster is also being updated, I would conclude that it has something to do with pets in general, and not a new summon. But hey, they did promise us another one this year.

It wasn't supposed to really mean anything, just stating the fact TOAU, is not done that's all. Anybody can chop up what I said and turn it into whatever they see fit. Nobody is going to be 100% right when it comes to avatars until the day comes.

Enspells II had been in the .dats for ages before SE decided to add them anyway. Anything is possible.

I am not crossing my fingers here....also sorry for not posting in awhile i have been a BAD taru, BAD taru back in the box with me. I would say that the chances are higher then they have ever been for us getting a new avatar but that is plain logic. As every update that goes by theoretically increases the chances that the next will the "one". I doubt that they will make them way too hard to get when they do implement them however since none ever have been. Thus I don't think that it will require XYZ story line to be fully completed or anything along those lines. Sure you can say Diabolos was one that was like that but it was actually not that hard to get to that point and the main issue has always been getting help for the fight.

I hope we get a new avatar however some new toys would always be welcome. Also all us Nay sayers have years of reasons for having become the negative balls of glowy summoner "yeah right prove it" people that we have become, and it's not because of some wish to not have avatars or anything like that.

I hope it's not too complicated to get, because everyone will be after it anyway, even those who don't play summoner. It's always that way.

What i'm guessing right now is that the summoner adjustments will be tweaks or boosts to certain mechanics of the job that we already have, possibly new JA's or specific changes to the avatars themselves. If they're releasing a new avatar they usually like to hold that suspense until just before the update happens. If we're getting job "adjustments" then i'm thinking the avatar if it's given will be the icing on the cake surprise shown only the day of the update.
