Looking for ideas on some gear mods for Garland of Bliss.
I know already that it has a 40%MND mod according to Wiki
Damage is increased by INT, Magic Attack Bonus, and WS modifiers.
Magic Attack Bonus modifier is direct % modifier on base damage. Magic Attack Bonus + 7% items will modify WS damage by 7%.

Just looking to see if anyone has done anything with this WS yet in terms of gear. I'm assuming maxing out my mnd and then throwing in some MAB where I can.
I'm confuses as to where it says damage is increases by INT. so I guess I'm not sure where to follow the 40%MND and max out mnd gear or go with the text and max out INT gear.

had a nice Garland of Bliss setup in the " Word on the street! JP book" thread but it was ffxigear, it would do about 333-353 to a greater cobri

I'm pretty sure equal amounts of INT (and MAB until you get to ridiculous levels) will always boost damage more than MND....

meh iv had it for a while and no it seems to do about 280-350ish to what ever mob i do it on, campain ep tw t and it idk if the mods help that much even pole dmg dont effect it really
this one seems odd just a static range of dmg least to me iv solo'ed with it for a few months now or it just dont get any higher then 350ish ( ever broke 400) altho i guess a good test which i have not did
is fight a slime to see if it still does 350ish ill prob do that now lol

From my tests so far it seems MAB has been the best modifier for dmg????? or am i smoking crack?

MAB is direct % increase so probably MAB is best for damage
its like Bsts Primal Rend in that sense

Primal Rend? was that the new JA they got? God i feel i have been away from the game too long ><;.


So stack MAB + Acc + other modifiers. Anyone have a free Novio lying around?

I don't have all the advanced MAB gear like Novio and stuff, but I do have the basics. With everything I have, I couldn't get more that 320 out of this thing. I'm just using it to set up Predator Claws since it lowers defense. Then again. I end up using spirit taker 90% of the time. So overall, not a very usefull WS thus far.

Primal Rend is their Mythic WS
Dont need accuracy for magical weaponskills as they never miss however they are subject to weakness/resistance and %resist
Stack MAB and whatever stat it is that buffs garland
although I cant ever see myself meleeing on smn and not using spirit taker

like Lilsoulreaver I see Garland of Bliss as mainly an effective way of setting up for Predator Claws. The def down is noticeable and afaik stacks with Dia too. It doesn't miss and is magical so its got some alternate uses as well, even if it isn't much. As SMN most of our gear cannot be effectively carried over to a good WS set, so it sometimes isn't very useful to try.. MAB available to SMN is probably available to BLM too so they're likely to be in hot demand and not as easy to get.

Other than that, GoBliss opens Light, which is a first for SMN on any weapon at all.

man i had the bliss soon as it came out and tried to play with it with diffrent stats int and mab and mind and stuff but i could do no more then 270-350ish no matter what mob i fought or what gear i had on its real crazy, i just think its a static low around 300-350 barring shell and crap i would like to do more testing but i have not had the time as of late. if anyone could tell me if they got over 400 dmg one or anywhere near 500 id like to know what you had on or avatar out and any info.

but i dont think this ws is for dm like someone said prob to set up avatar for dmg.

Well I would only ever use Garland in Campaign, so my interest were only for my own fun in game. Not like I am actually considering this for end game.


I think I might have to buy a novio, camp mysticmaker, and find some other mab gear then post some 1337 dmg!
