ok so i get in a pt the other day where this guy was telling us this war was good because I had riddli, I said doest perdu vogluge now a days do better then that? he replied only if /sam.
so if you are on nin it is assumed riddli is best? i thought it was lol regerdless of sub, then he went into something about not having GA marits.
I was not aware you needed merits in a wepon to use it or need to have merits to merit.

The guy you spoke with is a retard and needs to stop living in 2005. lol Ever since the 2-hander update, G.axe has always been better. I was in a meripo a few months back with a well geared adaberk/ridill WAR and his damage was terrible. I think he was topping off at 700ish with rampage.. Next meripo I had with a Gaxe WAR his RR's and KJ's were doing a solid 1k+ or higher, I dont remember exactly how much, I think he peaked around 1300? But it was much, much better than a ridill WAR.

There are very few things I'd use Ridill for it I had it(meripo isn't one of them), but obvious bias doesn't help your argument in the least. Rampage can average much more than 700.

I'd use Ridill/Shield for WAR/DNC in Campaign over Fort Axe. Otherwise I'd never lot it. It's still way over-valued in a lot of players' minds, so lotting it loses you a lot of Karma that could be turning into useful items
Between E.body and Ridill, I'd take E.body. Between Ridill and Leviathan's Couse, I'd take Leviathan's Couse. Between Ridill and Balestarius, I'd have to think really hard. Basically, Ridill is a DC farming tool if you aren't well-meritted for it, it's conditionally useful in events if you're halfassedly meritted for it, and you have to choose between being well-meritted for Ridill or for Great Axe. If you merit hardcore for Ridill, it'll be just as good now as it was back when the cool kids meritted in U-range. Of course, if you hardcore merit for GA then you'll be better than a 2005 WAR.
Does anyone know Balestarius' DA rate? 10.48DPS with a 50% DA rate and -8% Physical Damage would rape faces in Campaign as WAR/DNC.

I see this is a common question for you guys w -.-
I'm working on some math stuff related to various /nin merit-level DPS builds. I'll keep editing as I go, but you can check it out here. Course math isn't always everything, especially w/ the pDif function values in question.
This weekend I did a party in MMJ south and middle birds, rdm, cor, brd, ridill/joy (me), man/ridill, drg. 2x march, chaos, exp. Crab sushi at birds. Pizza at mamools (cept man/rid ls m8 was using sushi). 2 reasons I went ridill/joy (1) I wanted to compare it to man/rid, and (2) my axe skill was still ~230 at the time -.-. The war forums on allah' seem to advocate the use of swordchucks over man/rid, so thought I might as well keep an open mind. The two weapons seemed close, if anything. Me and the other warrior had the same quick and aggressive playstyle. Only parses I got were at mamools. For an hour long parse I was a 6% lead ahead, but also (1) me pizza him sushi, (2) I have full heca+1 for ws, etc, and his ws set is ~meh, (3) he doesn't have suppa ; ;. For other 10-15 min parses we were even. So the swordchucks were soso but they also depend more on bergressor merits than man/rid, I think. By the MMJ parse I had 5 sword. He has 4axe 4sword. And no war category merits ; ;. I did 66 vorpals in the time he did 56 rampage. My vorpals averaged 780 dmg, and his rampages 820 (again though I had superior ws set and food). Gonna play with both builds and also GA (my ga skill is at 150 ;
, but I'm looking forward to doing some math on it moreso.

I recommed avoiding having more than 1 ridill war in a merit party. One too many tp feeders and the birds get very aggressive with those pecking flurries.

Mmm we were fine on mp until we had to rep our rdm w/ a pickup (you know how those turn out ;
, but we were fine otherwise. birds are squishy ^^
