I want to do this to film a short amature movie involving a friendly quadav (yea i'm weird) I am looking to change my and other peoples playable character into the Dat of an NPC, i have tried manually switching the;
Hume Dat (Rom/27/82.dat) into the Quadav Dat (Rom/7/18.dat)

When doing this it results in the character being shown in a serious of polygons and all sorts of weird shapes, i cant even make out what its meant to be, but its seriously messed up. I thought possibly a confliction between the model dat and the character Armour dats, i changed into my war af then deleted the dat for the af which makes me invisible as a hume but when i try and change to quadav again it does the same thing.

Is there anyway to change a PC into an NPC? If not does anyone know of anyone that can model me a custome Quadav Dat!

PS, i'm idealing looking to change someone else to a Quadav so i can film them, ergo changing me into a quadav with 3rd party tools probably isnt going work ><

Another thought that just accured to me is can you change say a pet like a wyvern or pup to a Quadav? i could possible make someone invisable and make the pet into the thing i need to film, though this wouldnt allow me to film cities ofcourse and may be hard to manover.

Idealy my first choice is to see if i can make a Hume of another player into a Quadav, if there is i'll be very happy!

Could always wait until the halloween event comes up and try to get your friend into a Quadav costume. Though, I'm not sure if there's .dats for that you could use, too, to swap to.. I'm not sure how that'd work.. or if you'd get the same results as trying to swap it to Quadav all together. I don't know much about .dat swaps, never really done it before. :/

Get an item that changes you into a costume and swap that monster for the quadav.

Failing to pick one up during seasonal events (mandy, worm, rarab, chigoe) or that goblin/bat one, you could go into mamook and drink the water. It's poisonous wather tho, so try not to run out of health. Oh, and they have porrogogo frogs there, which are true sight.

I think one of the reasons it's not working is because there's a lot more information the game needs to draw player characters and just changing the .dat file doesn't account for possible customizations.

Your best bet is to use the 3rd party program "morph" which will properly replace your character with the model and animation schedules of any NPC. IIRC I couldn't get it to work, but other people in the thread have. The most recent version is probably near the bottom of the last page.

Yes i've heard about Morph, problem is i wanna have propper vantage points to film the quadav and others so i dont partically want to play the quadav, I here morph only changed the char that you actually are. Anyway from looks of it it looks doubtful i can achieve what i wanted but i have tried the costume idea and it works, only problem is you can only use this in cities. I think i'll use it though, and other than that maybe try chaning a pet into a quadav.

blitz buffalo is coming up. it should have the drovers belt as a reward again this year. it is the only costume item you can use outside of town that last longer then 5 seconds
