Awful lot of talking about DRG for it to be a hint for SMN.
Again, I hate to be the pessimist here, but y'all got way too much in SE on this right now. Worse then when people were trying to say Ixion was next avatar because if you zoomed in to 100x zoom on a electron microscope you could see a couple pixels of avatar glow in the picture.

I'm still trying to figure out how they confused Ouryu w/ a DRG or BST pet....
I will agree about a DRG's wyvren having a bigger storyline, I was hoping the DRG AF storyline would focus on the Wyvren but I was dead wrong.

It wasn't confused, they just asked if the wyrm there in the art was supposed to represent a DRG or BST pet but he dodged the question like SE always does. Apparently they have plans to introduce dragons somehow and I honestly think this should interest Summoners as well. He mentioned wyrms and not wyverns so unless they're talking about jugs I don't see how they can relate it to DRG. Then again this is just another interview that could mean nothing.

SE was probably trying to hold back the insult, since I'd ask them how good their vision is considering that is without a doubt Ouryu, the floading chunks of the land in the background prove that.
Also on another note/rant... it's been a week since SE has posted info on the Nov. update.... they gotta pick up the slack and quit kissing Shantotto's ass.

I'm still hoping for lower level BP adjustments. I think SMNs need that more than a new avatar.

At long last......
Rangers under the spotlight huh, makes me wonder about summoner still. However its pretty damb obvious.

This just in: SquareEnix trolls customers hard with typo, "summoner" instead of intended "bard." More at 11.

Nah, I still say just wait a bit and one of two things will happen...
1. SMN won't get their avatar and it'll be a BP adjustment or sorts
2. The avatar will be total crap. The fact SE gave the whole "You'll be asking us soon how to use it!" line they said at fanfest was a good foreshadowing at that.

What else is there to adjust about BPs? The only possible thing I can think of is a buff to some 70 BPs but that's it. Maybe allowing us to create Light and Darkness.
I honestly don't care about using Barracuda Dive or any of the low level BPs <.<
Avatars are a good guess at this point.

I've said and a few others have said this as well....they are probably gonna give us 2 new job abi's to follow the trend of SAM,WHM, and NIN to help out the old avatars. But always just speculation...
Face it, going though all the BP's recoding it - at SE pace would be around 2015 or something. When they could just add 2 new job abi's that effect everything about Rage and Ward's.
Only time I use like Axe Kick and shit, is for shits and giggles, hey sometimes its decent damage
Checks in the mail!

Read my post history you will see that's what I've been hoping we get for some time. A SMN version of "Seigan and Hasso." Essentially the "seigan" version is what we have now. Powerful BPs, higher avatar cost, 1 min timer, etc etc. Obviously this is the mode you use for stuff like Wyrms, Khimmy, Cerb, etc etc. The big burst hate free damage we all know and love.
The 2nd mode, the "Hasso" mode, is designed more around avatars being out, lots of BPing, cheaper MP cost BPs, and just faster. In this mode Avatar costs are greatly reduced, BP timers and much much smaller, but BPs are not as powerful as the "Seigan" mode. It's about SMN being more DoT useful instead of Burst. To go thru a dynamis and limbus and not BP every other mob, but all of them, and keep up lots of buffs. Avatars are easily kept out for free, so they are encouraged to be out meleeing, and also get a haste boost so better DoT melee.
I can dream....but will never happen I'm sure :\

oh no I read it that's why I said others have said it as well. but yeah I'm all for the 2 job abi idea as well.
This is going to be such a kick in the balls if they really don't give us avatars. I hope part II is smn not bst lol but we all know its gonna be BST

I mean the lower level ones so SMN can be more than a last resort healer in lower level Pts

Adjusting the potency of those BPs won't change the fact that you blow all your MPs in one fight due to the perpetuation cost. That's the issue, not the damage.
If we could keep avatars out at any level and they were actually faster and a bit more powerful we'd be completely fine and fit into a DD position. Sadly they decided to severely gimp us so we have to pay a very high price (in MP) for a horrible melee.
No, fixing BPs won't change the fact that SMN is better off casting Cure at low levels than keep an avatar out for 1 fight and having to rest for the second.
