So we saw this video on the ethical treament of animals in my philosphy class. So now i have to write a 2 page paper about it and how it's cruel to treat animals like that. Like this video is suppose to change my life and turn me vegan. I think i was the only person in the auditorium that was giggleing at parts of the movie. But it's not like I'm a dick or anything, sure it's sad but we arn't the ones killing the animal so what do they want. Do they want me to stop eating meat? Is that what they want? To get my protien from tofu and other crap? To eat my pizza without ham, bacon, or pepperoni? Do they want me to drive less so i don't accidentally run over a dog? Or take a bus? .... .... You take a bus!

Let's turn all carnivore mammals into vegans. That way, no cute animal will die a painful death.

In a surge of empathetic pity, I will endeavor to write your paper for you. Since I am also brilliant, you will no doubt receive high marks for my efforts.

Veganism and similar codes of ethics are religions, and are riddled with contradictions. As long as you aren't killing and torturing animals for the lulz, I don't see a problem. Granted, there probably should be some level of change in the meat producing industry when it comes to the torture the animals live through for the duration of their lives, it's for the greater good.

I wonder if PETA would get mad if someone were to like attack and kill a cow with their bear hands and teeth like a wildman. I'd imagine with a humans small mouth it would be a long an painful proccess for the cow. But Lions do it in the jungle so it's completly natural right...

PETA objects to humans acting within their nature, so they wouldn't permit a cow to die that a human might live. As is typical of religions, they exist in a strange dichotomy whereby they imagine humans are better than animals (why else would we be required to disavow our nature?) yet less important than animals, all the while ignoring that we're still just primates with particularly large brains, minimal body hair, and huge genitals.

Just write a 2 pager on how the video did nothing for you. Teachers eat up biased honesty peppered with sarcasim. Much better than reading a paper that fully agrees with the video (easier to write too).

I actually had to quote this. Most of my best grades came from sarcastic papers.

Out of curiosity, what was the subject of the video? Slaughterhouses? Poaching? Bestiality?

Then your school must not have been as obnoxious as mine was, when people asked or wrote a paper that didn't agree with the viewpoint of the general public, you got told to rewrite it or you'd lose marks. Or in the case of exams, you got told that "it's better to lie and pretend you like it, in case you might cause an annoyance with the examiner correcting it".
(Being reminded of having to lie about liking certain poems or books...)

At what point did a paper you wrote even have space to mention "liking" the poems or books you wrote about? In school, if I wrote some 3rd grade book report shit like, "This is a very good book, blah blah, the author is very effective in using metaphors blahblah I like his use of blahblah," my English teachers would have thrown the book at me.

Criticism of a given object becomes more or less scathing as a result of whether one actually favors it. I find it substantially more difficult to say nasty things about a book I enjoyed. As for a school teaching people not to express critical opinions of an idea, that's disgusting.

Ewww, now that's just wrong (the grinder pic). All those steaks, chops, and tenderloin all ground into a bland meat paste. My heart goes out to the professional butchers and chefs. I'm not too fond of tiny bone chips in my hamburger either.

Fact: That's where the meat in your hamburgers and nachos when you were in school came from. :/
