I found a professional online to make clay statues out of the likeness of my FFXI character for me.
I'd like to send them a 3D model that they can use to see my character and get the best idea of how it looks.
I tried the following:
On my PC: Loaded up the character in AltanaViewer, then export the HKLM\SOFTWARE\PlayOnlineUS\ registry key
On the target PC: Copy the correct DAT file to the correct folder, then import the registry key, then load up AltanaViewer.
However, all I get in AltanaViewer is a blank window. The correct armor and model are selected (because it stores those in an .ini file), but they don't show up in the viewer.
Does anyone know a way that I can achieve what I'm trying to do without installing FFXI on the target PC?
The person making these models for me lives a couple thousand miles, so I can't exactly install FFXI for them!
Thanks!

You need XI installed for MV/AV to work.
Best thing you can do is take screenshots and send them to him.

Yes but what exactly does Altana Viewer look for?
Does it look for certain dll's to be registered, does it look for certain registry keys, what?
If I can just trick AltanaViewer and copy only the needed DAT files, I could send it to the business via email.
And yes, I've already send them a bunch of pictures.
I just want to know if it's possible to someone make portable altanaviewer.

It reads and renders the dat files that are installed to your computer.

Yes but I put the the correct DAT files for the models I wanted to see in the correct folders and imported the FFXI registry keys on the new PC.
Still didn't work.
