I have been getting an error UCS-5024 for 19 days now and am unable to log on. It happened right after I changed by CC info. SE says that matter "has been submitted" and that the error is very rare adn that there is nothing I can do but wait for SE to fix the issue. The issue on their side as I cant use my PoL ID to log onto linkshell community or anywhere where I may need the ID as I get the same error every time.
I am about at my witts end, I have called SE every day at least once and get the same run around. The last person I spoke with said he would suggest to cancle my account and call once a week or so until its been resloved and reactivate at that time....... which sounds like it could take months to resolve.
Has anyone else had this issue? any sugestions?

I've been plagued by something similar, the UCS-xxxxx (basically keeps telling me the server is busy or not responding or my c.card info is either wrong or invalid)
After research, something similar happened back in May of 2009 where those who changed their CC info had to wait days to get back on due to registration server maintenance of some sort.
A few tricks have been said to help.
1) Try every 30 minutes (if you try it once and it doesn't go through, there is a security block which stops transactions from going through...aka fraud card use security)
2) Wait EXACTLY 24 hours from the last time you tried to input your new card data to do it again. This has been a better option, but some say the 1st eventually worked.
Although this is because I had a different CC on file on the 1st and got kicked out due to unpaid bill. Give it a try?

I, and quite a few others have been having the same problem. I actually got ahold of them (SE/PO), and they told me it was due to congestion/server maintenance. Best you can do is try till you get it to work, or wait a bit (told me a week or so), and try again.

Im having a similarly frustrating issue. I'm getting UCS-60257. Ive actually tried registering now with four different cards: 1 Visa debit, 1 Visa prepaid, 1 Mastercard debit, 1 Mastercard prepaid. Im still unable to pay and reregister. Does anyone recommend a card that works with no trouble, being either a large bank's debit, or a popular prepaid that will work? My prepaid Visa is from Wal mart, and my prepaid Mastercard is from Greedot. STILL no luck here ; ;

Damn, SE sure does make you wish you had your card info right to begin wish, sheesh. While it's comforting to know I'm not the only one with an issue, it sucks that this issue even exists. Hell, I figured the one thing a company wanted to do was take your money. Here we are trying hard as we can to and they won't let us.

I just did it using a different card (Visa by State Employees Credit Union) and worked without a problem. Just signed up for the Verified By Visa and three minutes after didn't have one hiccup.
In retrospect, the card I was using prior (A mastercard) hasn't worked for much online anyway (Kings Dominion and Amazon have both declined it, so there is probably an issue between the banks info and mine)
So...hope that helps.
Edit: Upon logging into the game, there is a notice that the Registration Server will be undergoing maintenance Oct. 6 from 0:00 to 1:00 PDT. So hopefully after that everyone can get back in the game.

Actually the primary card I am using went through the verisign process with no trouble, and still, will not work. Its probably my bank, (a local credit union) but im not going to bother with them because a friend of mine used to have trouble with them even before verisign. The bank seems to the think playonline is gambling, not gaming.
In the meantime I've opened a new account with another bank. Expecting a Debit card in the mail, hopefully soon.

I have tried 3 different cards all of which have been verified by Visa, and yet nothing has worked. Day 25 now and still waiting..... I will post when the problem is resolved and what the deal was to let others know who may get a similar error.

I have finally had success in reactivating, allow me to share my results.
This will only work if youre like me, and HAVE a verified card that is still getting denied.
This will NOT work for NEW accounts, because the back button brings you back past the verify step.
1. Go to pay with the verified card, enter your information, and go to next step
2. Go through the steps that take you to the web browser verification steps, and complete these.
3. Hit submit to get to the next step in POL. This should bring you to the PAY button.
4. Hit Pay. Your card will probably be denied (AGAIN)
Heres the tricky part:
5. It allows you to go back and edit your card details. Put in the details for a prepaid card here, update, and hit pay.
6. This should accept your payment.
My main card is a verified 3-D secure Visa, but POL still wouldnt take it.
The second card i used was a prepaid reloadable walmart visa, that does not have 3-D secure.
This will only work if youre like me, and HAVE a verified card that is still getting denied.

sounds like it would work for me... excpet I cant get to the screen to put my info in. I get the error as soon as I log on.

For the prepaid walmart visa, will this work with the temp. card you get, or must you wait for your 'personalized" card first?

Over a month now stil no access. I got a walmart prepaid card just in case it was my creidt cards for some reason. tried the Initial temp card no luck, just got the offical one in the mail today... still same error. SE still says no one has looked at it but that its been esclated and that a Tech will look at it when they get to it, but there is no timeline. Not sure how it takes a month to even look at the issue, but staritng to think it may take emuch longer to acutally fix.

for anyone reading this who has the same problem, I finally got my account back today. Took 7 weeks for SE to look at it and decide they had no idea WTF this Error means and jsut rolled the account back 1 day from the error. So, if you get this error, demand they roll it back right away! I asked them to do that the first week, but they woudl not. Just persist.

I HAVE THE ANSWER TO UCS-60257. For the past week I have been looking for ways to register FFXI, but this error keeps coming up. Eventually I called Playonline, and they told me that my card is not accepting the transaction. So then I called my bank (Bank of America), and I asked why isn't the card accepting the transactions from Square Enix. They then updated the information to accept Square Enix, and in 5 minutes I was able to register my credit card without a problem. I hope this helps anyone because it sure helped me
