Marauder's weapon choices.

If anyone remembers Final Fantasy II's skill/spell/stat development system, it looks like it may be a bit like that.

I've just been replaying Final Fantasy 2 for the GBA and I kind of got that same feeling.
I've essentially made a classless character into a Paladin by giving him a sword and shield, plus whatever white magic I feel he should have.

For anyone who hasn't played FF2, every time you swing a sword, your sword skill increases. The more damage you take in battle, the more your HP increases. Basically, in order to increase any stat you must use that thing repeatedly.

I kind of liked that system, I think SE just retains jobs so that people can look fancy and put together groups. Other than that, it really does sound similar to an FFII system
