Ranger Job Adjustments

Job Ability Adjustments

- Velocity Shot
The duration of this ability will be increased from five minutes to two hours.

- Unlimited Shot
Once activated, this ability will remain in effect until you successfully hit your mark.

- Camouflage
Rangers with this ability in effect will incur less enmity for ranged attacks. There will be a chance that the ability remains in effect even after a ranged attack, depending on your position relative to your target.

Ranged Attack Adjustments

- Ranged attack enmity
Less enmity will be incurred the further away you are from the target of your ranged attacks.

- Detailed damage messages for ranged attacks
Damage messages displayed after a successful ranged attack will indicate the effectiveness of the attack, allowing for players to better gauge their positioning. Critical hit and missed attack messages will remain unchanged.

Velocity Shot as a stance makes me very, very happy. I just hope the recast is something like 1 minute so that I can actually reuse it after one of my inevitable disconnects.

ok im happy with rest but cmon SE. 5min to 2hrs WTF..... thank god i dont play Rng anymore.

did i misunderstood or what. so VS can last up to 2hrs? Hell if thats the case go rngs lol

Duration, not recast. It lasts 2 hours now, like Grimoires and Afflatus. This isn't complicated.

Oh no... they said "part 1"...

While I'm a little sad that I'll have to use a harp when singing for rangers (just like the blm party), I'm hoping the reduced enmity will keep them close to each other. And now camouflage is a 'probably' lesser stealth shot with recurrence similar to third eye+seigan. Hope this has a profound effect for stealth>WS>camou>barrage>WS.

Unlimited shot... meh. Since I use it for WS, if I miss, I don't think I'm going to care that the first TP hit will be free.

Unlimited shot seems to be aimed at things like landing winds on sky gods or ash on DI.

Camouflage looks interesting, curious how the chance to remain active works and how much of a decrease in enmity it will give. Definitely a very surprising change for what was just an invis-wannabe.

Curious how much enmity change there will be with distance, but any help to prevent or decrease budging in normal xp is useful. Messages are helpful for console players, but windower already tells me where to stand.

Seems like it had a mix of revamping JAs and some new bits so pretty pumped for SMN and BST changes.

I don't see anything special about it, if you watch your velocity you can keep it up forever np, if you know were to stand you know were to stand, Unlimited shot is cool but if you miss your WS w/e then oh well you can have a more powerful TP shot?

I can understand the benefits. Yes you can keep an eye on your recast for VS, but when your dealing with mobs that have possible amnesia, or dispel, it can be pretty useful to keeping it up even if the recast doesn't change. The change to camo is simply giving it some purpose as it was pretty useless before, just like circle ability's.

Reduced enmity depending on distance sounds amazing to me though, would help with arrow spam on HNM or T4 znm or whatever quite i bit i think. Specifically for the mobs where you need to be out of AOE range. Depends on how its implemented though.

Wiki is flawed because of the fact that any slack jawed yokel that only reads the first 2 words of a post, can alter the contents of a wiki page. The ONLY information released is what you see in the playonline post, which does not speak about the recast, only the durration.

Why would RNG get 2 two-hour abilities?... Seriously it doesn't say anywhere that the recast is 2 hours and it won't be.

time-honored indeed...

the new duration is 2hrs, not the new recast.. this makes Velocity Shot exactly like Composure, which makes sense because it is a stance that people tend to keep up.. and dont want to have to go thru the hassle of reusing over and over.. also it means a RNG has a 2nd chance at keeping the ability up VS a mob that can dispel.

more looking forward to BST and SMN adjustments..
