They're not forced to wait. When the bonus isn't at full strength.. it's still a bonus.

I had one blm shocked that she actually managed to one-shot a dynamis statue with a near-midnight dream shroud and shiva's favor piled on top of that~

The keyword is "max;" the bonus increases in effectiveness over time.

The BLM still gets Dream Shroud and the Shiva bonus gets stronger; either way the BLM is better off than nuking with no bonus.

I am also a BLM and I can tell you the only time I'm idle is waiting to stun an ability or waiting for a group of mobs to gather/pop for sleep, aside from resting of course (but I consider that resting, not idle).

I just realized how little of the summoner community cares about these favors. Did a fight agains Despot. No bards or cors or reds, just 1 blm, 2 whms and a smn. I would have thought the Diabolo's favor would have been automatic here. Nope, the SMN whipped out Garuda and started to use Predator Claws. I then asked the SMN if we could get Diabolo's favor instead for the 2 whm's. She didn't argue and summoned her Diabolos. No Skill build at all. we were getting 2 mp/tick max. Afterward I asked the summoner in LS chat why she didn't have a Skill build for Favor. the 4 other smns in the shell poked up and started with there lack of interest in the favor and there lack of skill builds. Skill builds are ideal for magic casting smns, not just favors. But either way. It doesn't appear too many ppl are interested in this. I think SE needs to make some changes to it. I think ppl would be more apt to use it if it made more of a difference. Increase that Double Attack / Critical hit rate to a much higher percentage. I only see 1 double attack in 20 attacks. I have max crit hit merits, and I don't see much of an increase in that at all because of those merits. Shiva's favor only added 90-120 damage to my Wifes BLM spells. I'd rather no lose the MAB on my Heavanly strike. I lose about 400 DMG on that. Bottom line is, they don't make so much of a difference that anyone would opt to use them rather than having the SMN DD with Predator Claws for a good 700-1200 damage every minute. They need to be more potent, more noticable. If I were a DRG, pumping out 800-1200 Drakesbanes and hitting 1600-1800 with a Ramuh favor up. I'd want a smn with me all the time. If I were a blm hitting 1200-1400 burst II's hitting 1800-2200 with a shiva favor up, I'd again want a SMN with me all the time. Rather the increase is so miniscule, that I'd rather that SMN add to my 1200 Drakesbane with a 1200 Predator Claws, more damage over all.

I dunno if there is much more they need/should spend on favor, but I've really been wanting skill to have a greater impact on more BPs.

Examples:

Healing Ruby II: more skill over cap = more curing over cap
Earthen Ward: same as HRII, only damage absorbed.
Aerial Armor: more skill over cap = possible extra shadows
Spring Water = more HP healed and possiblity of removing Erase statuses also.

and so on and so forth. Really make the people that have taken the time on skill get more than just better siphons. So we really are better than the shit ass burned SMN standing beside us in his piss poor AH gear.

stronger crimson howl, phalanx stronger enspells/spikes maybe make it so that extra skill offsets lowered buffs like fenrirs buffs and diabolos's dream shroud (ie increasing the floor so MAB/MDB on dream shroud doesnt go below 5 even at noon)
because even the wimpiest sch and rdm can buff people so much better and infact you can get a better stoneskin from subbing white mage even if you dont have enhancing as a magic skill

Also I have done some events with other summoners, and its kinda funny when they dont swap any gear for anything they do. I just see YYR and Green pants 24/7.

Better than some of the AB'd smns on valefor who think they should use the job for events.

zenith legs/hands/head, errant body, errant feet, light staff, MP rings/earrings/accessories etc. No gear swaps.

ugh. seriously. ugh.
