So my COR is only 70 but i've already been having a blast playing with Quick Draw in solo / lowman situations and since the COR forums could use a little pick-me-up i figured i'd ask some of you more experienced COR's to maybe list "The best of the best" as far as QD gear/food etc. goes. Hell besides just "The Best" maybe even second-third best, ya know, things that'll hold us over till we have a chance to upgrade

[Nath]

75 COR/37 BLM

Main: insert apropriate HQ staff for the correct shot/ elemental grips
Head: AF+1
Neck: uggy
Earring: moldy/novio
Body: ACP (Quick draw -5 MaB +5)
Hands: Skadi
Rings: breeze ring/Omega ring
Back: Commanders cape
Waist: insert correct elemental obi
Legs: Nimue Tights
Feet: As elvaan i use RSE feet with 6 AGI or hermes for soloing
Ranged Weap: Corsair gun+1 w/ Steel Bullets

Thats the best at the moment for Max Dmg, you will also want 5/5 Quick Draw Acc merits and 5/5 of the Ability Delay on Quick Draw

Should also add.. since you said 2nd/3rd best..

Neck: For times when you will never be able to swap into low-MP (like being in a Smn/Whm/Etc. group with full-time evokers) switch Ugly Pendant out for that MAB+2 pendant from sky casket.

Legs: For times when you're up against mobs that would normally resist.. switch out Nimue's Tights for Denali Legs (M.Acc+Agi in exchange for one MAB).

Rings: I still use my Nimble Ring x 2 (Agi+5 HQ Lvl 72 rings) over omega for the mere fact we don't know if 2Agi = 1M.Acc. I'm a firm believe in M.Acc affecting QD but yah.. I prefer Agi+5 over M.Acc+3 if that's the ring you buy with ampoules.

Hands: If you can't get skadi hands.. go for AF2 hands or Mage's Cuffs. I'm trying to augment various hand pieces for MAB but so far I only get Magic Evasion and Magic Defense Bonus on all of my hand pieces I augment.

Feet: Since you're obviously not elvaan (going by your sig picture) if you're not kiting.. use Blood/Crimson Feet, Denali Feet, AF1+1 feet, or if you have none of those.. AF1 feet.

Earring: Moldy is a given since it's SO easy to obtain, as for second if you can't obtain a Novio .. try for a Crapaud Earring (runs 1,000,000G on Remora) or you can try your luck at augmenting a MAB+2/AGI+ earring from ACP7 fight.

Gun: Corsairs NQ / Corsair+1.. and you could always try to augment a NQ for MAB+2 which makes it minisculey(is that a word?) worse than +1 version.


Food: Erm.. if I think I'm going to be getting hit while soloing or whatever I use HP+ food. I never plan on getting hit though ^-^;

Body: Yah, if you're Cor main for for what Nat said.. amazing body and I never thought twice about it. If you have other jobs and another body.. go for Denali Body.

Back: Nothing much :-/ Commander's Cape and Nomads+1 is about all there is unless you can augment a MAB+ back piece.

Waist: Nothing again.. if you don't have sea just get a Scouter's Rope as they are fairly cheap.

well thanks for the input guys most of that i've either gotten or it's on my list lol, although Omega Ring isnt something that would have come to mind, Crapaud Earring either for that matter (only 3 have EVER sold on my server, go bastok ). i plan on trying for MAB on cor guns for a while, might do Drone Earrings as well( anyone had any luck with these?) since i'm by no means wealthy on this game and don't currently have a sea LS. got my Uggy pendant tonight ^^ fight was alot easier than i thought it would be considering the price. Also, I solo'd my first NM with the kite/QD method as 71 cor, Aquarius >.> i know, not exactly a difficult NM but i enjoyed the practice. only problem i really had was i kept losing aggro from either getting to far ahead or around a corner? Any tips on how to prevent this? i wouldn't have been too upset if someone woulda jacked Aquarius from me but i'd be a little more than pissed if it was a more serious NM.

Aquarius tends to lose hate a lot.. or so I've noticed from the many times I've aggroed him and lost him soon after without really trying.

Gear wise you're on the right track! ^-^ And drone earrings have had pretty bad results for 99% of the players. I think maybe a few have had R.Att+1/+2 on them and one with Str+1 but that's the extent.

I had this problem when i solo'd him but quickly found that if i was ahead no more than around 10-13 distance i would keep hate.

I play on xbox so the distance thing is a little hard for me to judge when the mob's behind me and i'm /blm ; ;

Got another question, still quick draw related so i won't start a new thread. I've been looking around at ways to break latent on Uggy and on /blm it's simple enough, cast ice spikes / shock spikes over and over till i'm well below 50% lol(may not be the easiest/best method but hey, it works), Question is, with 0 MP merits, how on earth can i break this /nin? from what i've read 0/0 is not counted as 0% but 100% =( and the 20 MP from the pendant itself doesnt count since it does not change your appearance? idk, personally i have no mage jobs leveled beyond 60 and dont plan too so the whole concept of MP latent things is kinda new to me , maybe i'm just confused lol, can anyone point me in the right direction?

well , long "Cool story bro" made short, i tried for over 4 hours one day with a couple friends, 0 brown caskets, 3 blue caskets. Even had "Mystery Boxes: Frontier or Outlands" or w/e going (not sure that was supposed to help in sky tho)

Fucking hate that casket in sky. The mog tablet thing does NOT enhance it, btw..

But yah, I've soloed about 20,000~ tabs in sky and seen 2 brown caskets. That is weeks and weeks worth of kills! I've only seen about 15~ blue caskets also. Shit sucks. I knew I shouldn't have "quit" and gave everything away. Thank god I augmented shit like my Martial Gun and Cor Gun+1.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. You could try to find a cheap/high level gorget to augment. See if you get lucky on MAB or AGI

As far as I know, if you have no natural MP and equip the pendant, the latent will be active. I had 8/8 MP merits by the time I got my pendant, so I don't know firsthand, but I'm pretty sure it works.

Umm... Yeah. I looked it up on the wiki before i asked about it, thanks though. 0/0mp (0/20 counting pendant) seems to not work for me, was doing the same damage vs. JoFort with and without the pendant yesterday

If you macro it in for your shots. 0/20 MP is under 50%. If it is not activating you're doing something wrong.

Honestly, you sir are an idiot. If you had ever consistantly shot at something that resists like a bitch (im talking tiamat/vrtra), then you would see the very very very obvious difference warlocks roll makes to your resist rates. Saying MACC does nothing for Corsair is not only ignorant, but it also goes towards breeding more ignorant corsairs.

On the ugg pendant thing, its been a little while since i actually bothered to check, but im 90% sure, that you have to be under 50% of your natural mp + visible gear mp (and merits do NOT count). If you are a cor/ninwith 0mp merits, in order to activate ugg, you have to have mp on either head/body/hands/legs/feet/weapon/ranged while qding (this is easily done if you have a mirke as it has +mp on it). The +20mp from ugg pendant does not count because it is not visible gear.

Actually saying MACC does nothing to corsair's helps the community by allowing them not to gimp themselves like retards and taking MACC over AGI.
