Since I'm pretty sure these will come nowhere near current Byakko's Haidate, these could become a weaponskill only piece for ~half the jobs out there, maybe? I'm sure there will be some more nice Pet options since SE is fond of doing that for the other pieces out there, and I'm not going to claim to know of these stand the chance of being as useful to a Mage as say Goliard or whatnot. (since that moderately easy to obtain)

I'd almost wonder if they're holding back the augment announcement intentionally to attempt to measure interest in the expansion, rather than the reward at the end. (let's face it, we all know the story is likely to be sub par at best, with annoying fetch quests interspersed.) I'm a little disappointed in the models though, as all three are basically long pants, and offer little in the way of new appearance. At least two of the three hats from the last mini-expansion were unique and interesting. Anwig Salade was rather phoned in, and mildly different from the Sallets already ingame.

Those legs better have some hot damn augments to make up for my lost 6INT, or else it's another addon I will have no part of.

.dat wise, those leg pieces all look pretty slick especially the mage one imo

Waiting on what the augments are, hopefully they are pretty decent.

I hope the story line isn't shit. It puts me off FFXIV when SE claims they've learned from their mistakes in FFXI and then continue to add them.

Star Wars Galaxies developers thought completly changing the game would fix everything. Apprently that didn't work too well. :P

SWG also did the equivalent of handing everyone a relic at the door and then nerfing the shit out of them. (refering to the big jedi change).

I'd be fucking pissed too.

Wasn't the Jedi thing in SWG (never played the game) such that players who got to become Jedi had it happen totally at random? If FFXI had been run that way, the majority of relic weapons would belong to level 1 mules telling me to go buy gil at goldyeah.com.

i like how the history of the pants talks of the "Yinyang master" and "her power over the forces of natures", i think it'd be a neat little hint towards Geomancer, i had heard rumors of another REAL expansion planned for the future.. BUT im very doubtful and im sure the Yinyang master is was a blm, though it'd be fun to go to the far east FINALLY, i doubt it'll ever happen, the game makes mention of the Necromancer job living in either phomiuna or sacrarium but we all know that'll never happen, now i just have to figure out what pants i want, hoping they'll have haste+ augments. im lookin forward to this though just cause the armor looks cool

1. It's an addon, the other two didn't have a good storyline
2. It's Shantotto

Anyway yeah, I'm still trying to figure out why SE didn't release a list of augments, seems like a shit move on their part considering the addon is already available for purchase. Those tassets look fugly to. If they have anything good augment wise I'm hoping it's just for weaponskills ><

i want to see what augments it will offer before i give SE more money, odd that they would choose a slot that has good items as is.
personal i was hoping for cape, belt, neck, an accessory. another pair of pants gets a meh until augments are known

Legs were pretty much a given, all addon armor has mostly been stuff to "show off" in.

reason behind them doin pants is because for some ppl w/o a lotta free time to join sky/sea/salvage ls they cant get haste+ pants for instance but they can get an addon that lets them do a few annoying quests and 2 fights and wa-la u now have a pretty good (not best by any means) piece of armor for whatever u want be it melee or ws or casting. i like the ideas behind the augment system i just wish u didnt have to go fetch BS for quests in the addons -.- thats lame

Is it so hard to learn how to spell voila?

Anyhow, I badly hope that SE does something better than just Haste. Yes, the people who can't be assed to join a linkshell are still lacking Byakko's Haidate, Homam Cosciales, Barbarrosa's Zerehs, Usukane Hizayoroi, Skadi's Chausses, Blessed Trousers, or Etoile Titghts might have some use for them, but the benefit of the previous scenario items has been the addition of stats that long-time players actually lack.

Honestly I don't want them to add haste. I'd rather have them do something else. ACP and MKD with some unique augments like Quick Draw Delay and Weaponskill Accuracy/Damage bonuses. And besides that I'd think Haidate would be easier to get than the addon since from experience most addon fights can have rather picky setups in order to win. To me the real challenge getting Haidate is finding a stable shell that doesn't just roll over and die within 2 months like most seem to. Homam is an entirely different story since Omega can be annoying and refuse to drop them. (Hay guyz! Want sum eyez!?)
