I'm still trying to figure out WTF they were thinking with the BLU/COR/MNK/w/e else pants though, they look weird.
Though yeah, now all we need is a dragon style gi to go with those slacks....

Wasn't the Jedi thing in SWG (never played the game) such that players who got to become Jedi had it happen totally at random? If FFXI had been run that way, the majority of relic weapons would belong to level 1 mules telling me to go buy gil at goldyeah.com.
before the change unlocking the force sensitive character slot (the character slot that could become a jedi) involved working your ass off finding holocrons (that were randomly droped from mobs) and completing the tasks on them. things like master a craft maxing out professions. pain in the ass all the way around to unlock a slot that had perma death on it.

It was random in the fact that your character had pre-selected professions that needed to be maxed in order to for you to unlock Jedi.
To break it into FFXI terms, imagine that your character needed to have WHM and DRK to 75 with full merits, smithing to 100, and a random assortment of quests. Now imagine that you have no idea that these jobs/crafts are flagged. There is a bit of randomness involved because if you happen to like WHM and DRK and level them to 75 as well as enjoy smithing and craft to 100, you got off fairly easy. But of course the only way to be sure is to level every god damned job there is as well craft and do every quest. It's kinda like the Ebisu quest, you could get your items on the first fishes handed in; Then again, you could be like that one guy that turned in over 1000 gugs over the course of 2 years.
The payoff was phenomenal, though, as Jedi characters could take a decent amount of fully leveled alternative type characters. In order to increase interest in the game, the creators changed the rules - You could be Jedi class from the start, no flagging, but in order to balance the game they made it so that they could no longer be the powerhouse they once were. Which means that if you went through the hell of getting a Jedi character, your work was just pissed down the drain.

Movement Speed +8%, did not expect that. Also Elemental Siphon +20 which I assume is +20 MP to Elemental Siphon which is decent macro piece.
Also there's Haste +3%(can be paired with accuracy +7 to make it a mini-Byakko's Haidate).
So that means these pants are not only a mini-Byakko's Haidate for casual players that are too lazy to do sky but also for players who are too lazy to do sky for the crimson legs.
Anyway, besides casual players, these augments they're forcing pet jobs(well actually just BST) to fork out $10 cause there are very "few" pieces that BST have that directly increases pet stats.
So for a BST that solos a lot, another -$10 down the drain(well, it does beat doing some of the grindfest or NM camping FFXI has, so it's not a bad deal).

^ Unless you consider the utter absurdity it takes to beat some of these fights, I am still stuck on the last ACP fight and I have had it for damn near as long as it has been out.
