Using this new weapon skill I no longer use af on anything that counts, Was doing an ACP11 zerg for the LS Ascetic's fury did 987 to the crystal. So what are everyone else high points.

I've done a couple random 1200's on random things, but it's really not that good on anything you can hit for decent accuracy/damage. If you're having trouble with Asuran Fists, you might wanna show us your setup, because something's wrong here. If I use Ascetic's Fury, it's mainly for the lulz of turning the mob into a Vegetto (nigra, el oh el).

Ascetic's Fury is like having drunk sex with a skank. Sure everything looks good while your drunk, but when you wake up in the morning and realize the damage you've done, you promise yourself you will never do it again.

Asuran fists- Hissho hachimaki, Shura togi, Peacock Amulet, (lack of flame gorget atm) Bkote focus up Nkote focus down, Snipers x2, Tiphia sting,Denali feet, Foragers mantle, Life belt. Being an lolvaan the acc doesnt hurt name changes if any are needed. Avg damage on asurans ranges from 400 on high def mobs all the way up to 900-1100 on weakers, Ascetics for me anyways consistently does 700-800 on High defence spikes of 1200.

I did 1560ish Ascetic's Fury in Dyna-Bastok the other day. Don't ask me how, I have no clue. Crit on both main hits + double attack? That still doesn't justify 1500ish, since Dyna mobs usually have high defense. Maybe some Angon/Tomahawk were used on that target just a second before?
I don't know but it really was a high number, don't think I've ever seen Ascetic go that high. Well, not like I use Ascetic that much, so it's hard to tell.
I still think the WS is shit honestly, I don't think there is a situation where you'd want to use it over Asuran or Howling. It gets a use only if you have Glanzfaust, imho.

This isnt a bad ws, just situationally useful. On high def mobs AF will do bad. This leaves you with HF or AsF. HF can usually outdo AsF though with a good build, but i find If I am not getting 1 attack buff (so I have 0 buffs usually) AsF will pump out a but more consistent #s. For example in dyna when a pld mob is pulled I usually use AsF and can get better dmg than my other ws's, maybe its just me but meh its so close to HF dmg anyhow on most high def mobs. Ive also been able to hit 1300s on pld mobs with it quiet often, while AF will end up like 600 at best (w/o a brd), and can get usually 700-900s on AsF if no miss on 2nd hit.

One thing though I think a good HF build goes a long way and could keep up with AF np, I like HF more too personally ;D so aim for that haha

Ye gods, I wish people would learn to take the extra second and type things in full. There are at least four things in FFXI (ok, so I'm a hypocrite with this abbreviation) that can be called "AF" and it gets confusing as hell. At worst, call them Asuran and Fury so that "AF" can continue to refer to artifact armor.

1353 my best to date. No Brd, No Cor, was using Bream Sushi at the time, was /nin, I am assuming DA kicked in and I am pretty sure Warcry was up, also possibly Tomahawk. Was on a floor 60 Hydra in Nyzul.

Destroyers

and this stuff switched in for the WS

Shura Zunari Kabuto
AF body +1
Warwolf Belt

also possibly Temple Gloves +1 due to the lag sometimes they dont switch back in time b/t Boost macro and WS macro.

Wat....

I thought the reason that nobody posted here is because people knew this job inside and out.... But I guessed wrong.

Warcry and boost do not stack, unless it was updated after I stopped giving two shits about monk. That is all.

-edit- Taken straight from the Warcry page on Wiki:

Quote

  • Does not stack with Boost. Warcry will have no effect if Boost is active.

Have the hands you use for a weaponskill in the top line of your macro. That way, they swap in before the weaponskill regardless of any lag.
