Adjustments have been made to the following scholar job ability:

* Modus Veritas
After a helix spell is cast on a target, a predetermined period of time must elapse before Modus Veritas can be used effectively.
Furthermore, certain Notorious Monsters will now demonstrate resistance to the effects of Modus Veritas.

The NM's is straightforward, but the "predetermined time" is interesting.

It sounds like they want us to wait before using Modus instead of instantly after we cast a helix.
"effectively" makes me wonder what will happen if we continue to instantly use modus.

Maybe instead of 100% damage increase, it will be 50% if "time" hasn't "elapsed" ?
There's no tellin' at this point, but i'm sure someone will figure it out soon enough.

Bummer.

Do people actually use Modus Veritas? Before seeing the demonstration videos about "one-shotting" a Yovra, I don't think I'd ever seen the animation and I party with Scholars with fair frequency.

All the time when not main healing. Most NM's & General mobs.
I like to consider Modus as our AM2, seeing as it has taken Eraser(Sky FoV) down to 41% alone, and other various mobs.

Soloing or Not, there's really no reason why any SCH shouldn't be using it from time to time.

Btw: You do have to be cautious not to let something go unclaimed while helix is still on, because if it ticks & dies, you get no EXP/Drops. Sux ass.

It's not Helix, it's all things. DoT + unclaimed is a source of much shouting and cursing when fighting Poroggo Madames in Zhayolm Remnants.
