I don't think it'll be exactly "picking" your augments, though. If NM's all across the globe drop these, the ones with the decent stats are probably gonna get over camped or have significantly low drop rates. I'm hoping all the NMs share the same drops so that doesn't happen, though. It's more like "Find an NM, hope you get lucky you get something you need, then go through a painstakingly long process to have a 'chance' to get it equipped to your equipment." There's a lot more to this process than old augments, but yes, it will let you "pick" your stats, if you happen to find them and get lucky they don't break.

I don't know, I don't think they went too into detail about their nature. If they're force spawn, it won't be so bad. If they're on timers (which would be really stupid on SE's part) then it'll suck.. When they mention new NMs being added to all the zones like that makes me think they'll be on timers. I don't remember the FoV NMs being mentioned in such a manner. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Pankration wasn't barely justified by Zeni (which I seem to recall you defending when I complained at it way back when).

You must be out of your mind.

And how much of your success in doing all those missions hinged on wrangling people in your linkshell to do them? People with large linkshells composed of people who still log in for more than three hours a week have a very different perspective on what this game is currently like. My Dynamis 'shell has been canceling runs due to poor attendance and there are at least 100 people with a pearl for the shell. One of my Salvage shells suffers the unending problem of people only showing up when it suits them (and Salvage is a large part of why most of the people I know are still playing because other things like ZNMs and ANNMs certainly did not add enough to capture their interest). The other has a population of 25 or so players but only 4-7 are logged in at any given time, even when we're supposed to be doing larger events like sea. The population of every server has declined sharply in the past year and the English-speaking population has dropped even further; these are not disputable facts. How about you go manage to get your Runic Disk with shout pickups only, then come back and talk to me about how glorious your server is.

Seriously, though, who wants to grind up a fucking craft skill at this point? Anyone? Even if I was generous enough to ignore the problems of low population and the logistical headache of getting people to even log in for events, much less harassing them to come play with an oven, unless Synergy Skill caps at level 10, it will almost certainly be a major pain in the ass for minimal payout. The data-mined stats for what might be base items coupled with the mined Evolith possibilities make this system into a long series of truly marginal increases, so there's probably going to be even less incentive to suffer the hell that is FFXI crafting.

Crafting was the only thing that kept me playing for the last few months before I quit, lol. I also bred a chocobo with maxed stats (for digging, not racing though), and two level 50 Pankration pets. XD

Needless to say, I had a lot of free time, and the hour and 40 minutes of Salvage every day just didn't fill up enough of it by itself. >_>

If I were still playing, I'd probably go crazy with the Synergy crafting, just to max out the skill, lol.

I really hope there is more than that. Those stats only sound really useful for a couple jobs, and even then, it sounds like the bonus stats wont be much at all. :<

To be fair though, you're just arguing using your experience from having played on Alexander (I'm assuming here it's the only server you have been playing on in the past 3~ years). And Alexander is really a desolate shithole compared to many other servers. The population is constantly decreasing due to people jumping to more populated servers. So yeah, while we're pretty much screwed on Alexander, people on other servers may or may not have the same issues.

There's a thread over on BG and they've been mirroring our experience on Alexander. Anyhow, Alex was never really a desolate server, it was just a lazy and clique-ish one. Even the cliques are falling apart, though, because people just don't play anymore. I would not be remotely surprised to learn that 50% of the people who post on KI, Alla, and BG do not have an active account anymore.

I know this was sarcasm, but doesn't something like "Hundred Fists: Ability Delay -1" mean that while you have hundred fists active, all your OTHER abilities' delays are lowered by 1?

Also amusing they suddenly decided to cancel the ranged enmity, so basically you have some inferior attempt to copy a windower plugin and then a JA's duration increase.

Yeah really, wtf? The ranged enmity thing was the only marginally decent thing since the Velocity Shot change is basically just fixing the duration to match the other "stance" JA's.

The filter doesn't work. I've gotten RMT tells already. Testing it with a friend, I sent him a bunch of URLs that the RMT advertise and I got blocked once but not the second time, in spite of it being an identical message. Trust SE to be incapable of doing something that other MMOs have had implemented either officially or by the playerbase for years.

concerning path:

Asura is regarded as a populated server and suffers like what path said.

limbus LS going from avg 18 people to do 2 runs down to 6-12 on a givin day.

dyna ls barley getting 18 people to do the old zones is too low to do dreamland, CoP used to be once a week, every week it used to be one city, one dreamland

There is only 1 LS that has been around for a while ( like 3 years?) one that recently formed from others that have good skill, then you have the notorisly bot ls.

so on asura you only have 1-3 LS in endgame and i dough all 3 compete agenst each other since one is NA, one is a JP/ NA / EU mix and the other just EU.

making a new LS is fucking shit most are lazy and do not want to do anything.

the game has been dieing in the last year or so slowly and in the last 6 months or so it really got bad. the other day i tried to do a nyzel Ile 41-45 climb .

me and a friend needed 41-45, he invted a friend. so we had 3 people, my duel box chr and picked up someone else, we could not even get 6 so after about 2 hrs of looking we tried with 5 and failed.
I hate duel boxing in nyzle ile because i get lost easy and confused where each chr is, and being the only healer makes it more rough.

you know FFXI is at the end of the line when people have dramma over pup relic, people CFH on bune, and people having 3 different parties at charby that kept wiping to it.
