Did anyone else think this movie completely sucked and a total waste of $10. I didn't get scared once. Whats wrong with America now if crap like this passes as horror. It's like you can now just get a home camera and make your own horror movie now and just submit them to Dreamworks. I used to think we were all desensitized, but now I'm thinking most movie goers are wussies. How have we lost touch is what was truley scary in films? I was more scared of the clown in Zombieland than that whole movie.
watch this clip and you'll know what i'm talking about
The movie Paranormal Activity

I've yet to see it but I've only heard good so far from it. I'm still creeped out by things like Chucky (the original, not the tattered, later versions), but I'm not much of a horror movie goer myself. The only thing I could think would be scarier is..
LOL at that video, that was awesome.
Spoiler

Is it customary to whine about every movie you see nowadays? Sorry everything can't be worth your $10 and an hour and a half of your time, because as we know, it's so fuckin' important. No, you're not cool and no one cares about your stupid opinion about some fuckin movie.

I quite enjoyed the film actually, though I watched the 2007 release, which has a drastically different ending. I didn't feel scared at any point, I got the impression you weren't supposed to, it was very creepy at points though. Overall, considering the budget and production level of it, the film was incredibly well made and put together, if you've ever watched the reailty shows this is based upon, you'll know exactly what to expect and when something does happen, they do it exceptionally well.
I thought the two actors did a stand-up job of making the whole thing convincing, which is something other people I've spoken to about it agreee with. More than once I found myself laughing at shit they'd say to each other, because it's stuff you'd say to close friends and the like, and when shit does hit the fan, I did feel at least once that I'd hate to be in a similar situation. The emphasis of the film seemed to be based upon the fact that these were just two very average people, experiencing incredibly strange shit, and dealing with it in a "realistic" manner. If you watch it expecting to be scared, yes, you'll be disappointed, the newer ending (which I've not seen but had described to me), just reeks of Hollywood bullshit, and I would have enjoyed the film a lot less if I had seen that ending. I found the original ending to be a lot more true to life, and genuinely a lot more creepy than the one I was told about. Again, people I've talked to about this have agreed that the ending they saw was a lot worse than the one I watched. Even then, as the film came to a close, I felt they tried too hard to make it obvious what was going to happen at the end, the last ten minutes or so of the film were generally inferior to the beginning where very little actually happens.
It's a good film, a lot better than The Blair Witch Project, and not quite as enjoyable as Cloverfield, but I'd definitely recommend it to people. Not sure if they even plan on releasing it over here, which is a shame.

they did do a good job i'll give ya that. They did act like any real couple would. I suppose that gives the movie merit. It's not scary though, the advertisement made it seem like it would put the fear of god in you. Maybe i would enjoyed it more if it wasn't for the ads. IDK but my boss told me if I didn't get scared he would pay me back my admission.

Fucking. Owned.
On topic: I thought it was OK. Much better than the blair witch project (which was an epically retarded movie regardless). I did enjoy cloverfield more though. But for the budget, this movie was a great money-maker thats for sure. Wasn't the budget something like $20,000?

I agree with Metticus, ive had the displeasure of seeing Cloverfield,The Blair Witch Project, and Paranormal Activity.
I saw Paranormal Activity on the internet and was just mad I wasted time. But I think we all knew it was gonna be a shitty movie but we were all
somewhat intrigued by the movie for some reason >.>

Finally got around to watching this movie and I have to say I found exceedingly boring. Nothing ever happened and just like the OP video demonstrates, everything was exceptionally cheesy and lo-fi.

All i want to know is, for the people who actually found this movie scary:

I would guess that if you believe in crap like that then it would probably scare the pants off you. while i was not crawling over my chair or any thing there were a couple of things that made my fight or flight reflexes kick in. But thoughs were the "jump scare" moments of the movie. Other then that i found the the movie to be rather boring but strangely enjoyable. Though i will agree with treelo had i saw the theatrical release first i probably would not have liked the film as much.

Griss makes a good point actually, I never thought about it that way. I watched the movie I'll confess I enjoyed watching it in spite of rolling my eyes more than a few times, but then again, I don't believe such things are possible. I suppose if you believe in the paranormal and ghosts and stuff then it might be genuinely frightening.

well i believe in ghost. I've seen them myself with my own eyes. But this movie still doesn't scare me.

So basically, if I am scared of Pauly Shore, I will be scared of BioDome?
