[Prodigie]

I'm relativly new to the game but I saw a screen shot someone took that had timers on their buffs and it appeared that there were recast timers going down the left side of the screen. Is there an option for this somewhere or is it an "illegal" addon? I'd really like to have this feature for myself, just not sure how to do it.

It's a third-party application called Windower. Windower can be downloaded at www.windower.net (Be VERY cautious downloading 3rd party apps - some are specifically designed to steal your login info so players can steal you in game items; luckily, windower has a solid, trustworthy team on it). Windower is only available for PC users.

Windower allows for multiple useful "plug-ins", one of which is called Recast (the one you are referring to). Currently, recast is broken and will crash your FFXI, but knowing the Windower team it should be fixed shortly.

As with all third-party apps, it is against the FFXI EULA (end user license agreement), is "illegal" and "bannable". However, there is currently no way for SE to detect that you are using the program. In any case, use at your own risk.
