Nice mask on the gladiator. Hopefully you can have 4 or 5 stances to chose from instead of everyone looking the same.

We got new info, waaaaah

You had to wait a whole one month for new info, and they didn't even explain the combat system completely in the update, as well as release a new trailer with gameplay?! Oh I feel your pain man, I do. Those evil devs..

has it been a month? It feels like it's been longer. I also know my post seemed like a troll post, I was half-asleep when I made it. From the lack of information on the site I dont know if FFXIV will be releasing next year, I'm banking on possibly early 2011.

Seeing on how information has been crawling out of SE it looks like we probably won't see Beta until mid or late 2010, with a release either in November or early 2011 like you mentioned. Or they could be withholding information until XIII releases as to not take steam away from that title. To be honest, I don't mind, it looks like they're taking their time to make sure this game launches with no hicups.

Well, if it doesn't get pushed back FF XIII is set to release in march so that's something to do till XIV comes out. Also, about the game hicups; I learned that every game has problems at release no matter how good beta's seem. I played the Aion beta and it seemed really well done. Not much lag, almost no downtime, the game ran as smoothly as it could be. When it went live it had so many problems with bots, bugs and a lack of quests/content it isnt even funny. It seemed like it would be alright, very over hyped but this is getting off topic.

I'm still waiting for FFXIV, Star wars: The Old Republic, and Diablo III.

37 days to be exact iirc. I think it's an alright pace, especially if we'll get some bigger chunks of info every 3 months or so like in the update last month.

As for the release date, Tanaka has said that the development is faster than they had previously thought, so a Q2 2010 beta would not be that surprising. I also think that this game won't be delayed to 2011, since SE has always been quite punctual with their MMO releases (you rarely see an update get delayed in XI more than maybe a week sometimes, and expansions get released in time as well).

But I don't think we can make any conclusions from the amount of info we're getting.. even if beta was one month away they probably wouldn't release much info still, lol.

Bah, they can scrap 13 if it means 14 can come out faster, I really hope it's not the case ; ;

I wouldn't mind this, FF13 looks bleh to me.

Would love if SE went back to the classics and try to make a FF similar to 3 or 5.

Same here, I agree with 13 looking less then impressive story/setting wise, and the names? What the hell? Valille(Vanilla), Snow, Lightning, Hope. Can we use real people names please? I think since 7 their trying to build on the technology setting of that game which was ok.. in FF 7. I would love to see more classic FF settings, the rebirth of steam technology and magic in 6 was perfect, along with the classic medevil settings of other final fantasies.

It's funny you mention that since Lighting was actually based off Cloud.

All I can say is that I am sucking up to SE.

-I am keeping my account on FFXI active.

-Signed up for their newsletter thing on the official FFXIV website.

-Plan on buying the collector's edition of FFXIII (You know they will do it), be awesome if they included a FFXIV beta code in there.

-A 7 year player on FFXI, better get a damn opportunity to beta. :)

Hey, why make a good storyline when you can just blind the fanboys with FF7 like shit?

Because Square knows that is what you want.

Yeah, I've noticed the same similarities. I'm excited for it, but XIII visually reminds me a lot of VII and X (I understand the same team did XIII as well as X). Hopefully with XV we'll get something resembling VI + IV.

It looks sorta like a mix of 4, 5, and 8 to me. The technology seems pretty advanced if they have flying platform like things we can fly on and control. However it still seems to have a fantasy based world like in 4/5.

Still hoping 15 will be similar to 3 and 5, restoring the light of the crystals, getting new jobs, etc.
