Since you asked about them on BG, I decided to go get some Birdbanes for myself. (1/2 on the drop)

I can confirm that they are piercing damage.

Same gear, no buffs 400-500 hit sample size

Destroyers:

Birdbanes:

Edit: shouldn't make topics when I'm half asleep. Gawd at my spelling.

So Birdbanes on birds, and Destroyers on everything else. Vegetto what are the pop conditions on NM, these seem a good choice over the old piercing h2h.
If pop isn't something ridicules i will go get them when i get home.

You'll do just as well with Destroyers as with Birdbanes, the difference between them is nominal. If you're leveling up and caught in Colibri Hell, however, these are very much worth the effort.

True, thing is i beat Shantotto mini so am looking for something else to do. Mini had what 9-10h's of content, bout as much as a standard PS3 game.

I-9 bat downs S
As path said, not worth it just for colibri. Shines on things like jailer of temp and lower lv birds.

Popped about 1-2hrs. Idk if its lotto or just plain spawn so i just killed shit anyways.

I still haven't been able to go and camp this NM yet and test this myself, but quick question. Is the latent "Piercing Damage" fully active like a Joyeuse (but not during WS,) or is the piercing only applied to Avian class mobs as the name "Birdbanes" implies? Has any tried this out on the blunt-proof floor of Apollyon?

While that's a really good question, I don't see SE making the weapon like that. If I ever get the fucking things to drop, though, I'll try to find something to test them on.

Test em on those new Shantotto mission mobs that are only vulnerable to piercing.

Thanks, I can stop begging friends to go into Phomiuna Aqueducts to get me a non-blunt weapon.

Why beg friends? It'd take a week or so, max, to get Beastmaster to 40 and just do it yourself. That's what I did.

Just got Birdbanes and Vampiric Claws this weekend. Birdbanes NM is definitely a timer spawn, no killing PHs required. I went there to kill him exactly 2 hours after his last death and he popped up shortly after I arrived.

I got to play with them yesterday on Temperance. Used Birdbanes as main and activated Footwork for blunt, so I got to save my TP half the time as well. Unfortunately I never got to try out V-claws. The only time he was weak to slashing was when I was KO'd.
