I play the game on my laptop occasionally at work, it worked well (aside from the game freezing every couple of hours or so) for a few months, but now when I open with FFXI with windower, it gets to the "play" button screen and just crashes. I'm able to play fine in non-windowed mode, but that's a pain in the ass for obvious reasons.

Event viewer gave this:

Do you have the old Recast still on? I had that problem because the new update had issues with old version of Recast (1.72 I think) They updated it and it works fine now.
