Blm for HNM is easy if you follow these steps.

1. Are you fighting Kirin or JoL? If yes, go to step 5
2. Equip max damage set
3. Nuke HNM
4. Profit
5.
Spoiler

No need to make tons of different sets.

I'm going out on the limb here... and this is just a hunch...

But im going to guess that you never had the oppurtunity to touch Tiamat in your self proclaimed "extensive and well accomplished" ffxi career.

Hey I could be wrong, you obviously have the best answers for everything.

Tiamat? lol. I Used to do him with 6 people. Hell we used to smn BP him when he first came out, with 18 and it took forever. So I can attest to many, many tiamats.

Use thunder and profit, should not get resisted more than once out of 5 nukes, unless you have really bad gear/merits.

Spoiler

I'm sure your BLM gear isn't quite that fancy, but anything near it should prove efficient on Tiamat.

And yes, generally my answers are pro. This is KI you know.

Haha, I can't tell if you're being ironic or not. Your two nuking sets are good, but the others are pretty questionable, which is a shame considering how many rare drops you've gotten (Sorc Gloves/hat/legs -1, full Morri, at least 2 sea capes and 4/5 Nashira).

I'm not a big fan of AHable gear, so I don't see how my enfeeble/dark sets aren't just about perfect. I'm open to suggestions. I will however not buy marginal AH upgrades that will make no difference and take up space that I have so little of.

My "Resist" build is more so for casting burn on things so it sticks, and my idle set is more of a low hp to proc sorc ring set.

If you ask why I care about space more than marginal upgrades, go look at my ffxiah.

Anyways, I was just curious as to why he is getting resisted on Tiamat, it's not a hard HNM at all.

I can see this debate going way off topic ,and chances are no one will be capable of answering my question about mobs magic evasion anyway, but what the hell this is KI right?

No where once did I say I have problems with resists against against Tiamat. Maybe you should go back to school and learn how to read? My question is related to fine tuning my gear to maximize my damage while being as close to the unresisted cap as possible.

With such a "pro answer" you gave I had the need to point out an obvious fact that you missed, Tiamat. An HNM with 120 INT which typically requires a bunch of blm's to take down. Nuking with a full "Max dmg" (im assuming you mean full MAB) gear will almost certainly result in a resist.

And here is a friendly tip from me to you: all of the effort and time you put in to giving a bullshit/smart ass answer on KI... you could have used to get laid. Now gtfo of the blm forums :)

"Now 'Get The Fuck Out' of the blm forums :)".
Don't hurt your head too hard trying to figure it out.

Obviously your lack of intelligence has contributed to your initial idiotic response, as well as your follow up responses, which is probably reflected in how you play your jobs in FFXI. That being said, is why any future remark you may make will simply be disregarded as irrelevant. All of the "superior" gear you may have obtained throughout the years has pretty much been wasted on an inferior player. Don't feel too bad, i'm sure your not the only one out there.

I, on the other hand, am always looking for ways to improve & fine tune my play style to be more efficient in all of my jobs by seeking out knowledge. I do consider myself to be one of the top tier players on my server but I by no means "know-it-all".

Here is another tip for you my friend: Why don't you quit while you can still preserve your dignity. You have already accomplished your goal of making yourself look like a complete asshole :).

Lol.

I have good gear because I'm the best. You can forum combat me all you want, but you will never have the gear and talent that I posses in game.

Sorry bro.

I have good gear because I have no RL job, an unlimited amount of free time, and prefer to do salvage instead of having anal sex with my gay husband because it has lost its spark. I'm the best. You can forum combat me all you want, but you will never have the gear and talent that I posses in game.

Fix'n Shit

If you have the gear and talent that I lack, then I guess you already realize that your wearing 2 pieces of unnecessary zenith gear + morgana's choker (brilliant move being a taru), missing a key piece of -PDT gear, and have no Herald's Gaiters in your blm idle gear. God damn I want to aspire to be just like you!

"Never" isn't a possibility, but yeah 150 is too much for HNMs. Yes, after you've found an acceptable resist rate you add MAB+INT accordingly.

Nope. According to that xls, 84/85... so you can treat it kind of like a pudding, exept it's an HNM and resists fire/ice.

I say create a thread in the BLM section with this information and sticky it

Everything you've said so far just makes me think that you don't use BLM for much of anything and don't care what your performance is. That's fine, there are a lot of HNM BLMs who gimp by and your gear is much better than most of theirs. However, it's a pretty far stretch to call yourself pro. I'd call you, "well geared for someone who doesn't care about the job" and I'd pity the BLMs that liked the job who you probably outlotted for drops that matter like Sorc Gloves -1.

Especially when you say stupid shit like casting elemental debuffs in your resist gear. In my experience, elemental debuffs are just as accurate as nukes, and you should be aiming to break INT tier on them for more -stat and more DoT. You shouldn't aim to land a weak Burn any more than you'd aim to land a weak Slow.

I guess what I'm trying to get across here is:
If you don't like a job enough to buy it AH gear, then regardless how well you do compared to the other HNM BLMs, you likely aren't pro.

Your right, I don't care about most of my jobs a whole bunch to go so far as to maximize every spell in every situation in every slot of gear. I don't have the space.

I just change to the job that is the best for the situation, or what my LS needs at the moment.

Mainly my BLM is used for ENMs, Sea stuff, and making money.

If you browse my sets on FFXIAH, you will most likely notice that none of my jobs are "gimp" in any way, and that most of the gear is the best for what's needed.

On another note, yes I have a max INT set for burn potency, but I didn't want to post 20 sets in the BLM forums for every single spell/situation. I just had those gear sets saved from an old picture I did a while ago.
