Agreed. I rarely see people exping in past vana'diel and if they are it's either campaign or that lv35 bird camp. Still though...birds. It would've been nice if they had at least made 1 or 2 good xp camps with a new kind of mob that was fast/safe/easy like birds but n the new areas. Not only could you have more places to exp, but you could explore more diverse party setups than the usual SAMs and a WAR bit.

10% Magic Haste. God save the queen. APOC ONRY. I find it LOL that you think war is shit. A war/sam with full haste(rune chopper) will kick a Sams ass because of using that belt. I should know because i always got bitched out killing mobs solo to fast by the time i engaged a mob I would do a WS. then get a retaliate, DA proc. or so then another WS then have another one gone before they even looked at the mob. That's slow people and full haste breaking shit in half. It's hard to find good melee i admit. You say sam can do that as well. Yes but a war/sam can continously be doing that over and over again which gains more TP in turn doing way more spam damage. I stick to the "old school" ideology that haste is the pure win and math proves it, as well as, parsing if used with the right melee that can spam the TP gain fast enough.

Rest my case. Yeah the only few good people left to like playing hardcore are far and few between. I saw an apocalypse owner using empress hairpin full time if you can believe that one.

SAM and DRK are the main DD jobs i play and the ones i have put the most work into but both still are very different in the end. As DRK there is no way i reach my SAM if only in pleasure i get from playing the job itself on anything above merit mobs. And even in merit parties, as mentioned above, DRK is so much work for the supports/yourself that there is just no fun (enjoy fulltiming your ares's cuirass so you can do 1 absorb TP every year).

But as for the main question, i still see a lot of DRKs, as much as when i started, even in merit parties and endgame LSs.

Didient konw tp'ing in 18% haste, having about +34 enmity for ja's, 1600 hp/500 mp, and spamming atonement = beyond inhuman. I also dident know that 25% haste and 400+ att in my idle as mnk was gimp either, or being able to chakra for over 400 hp w/o food. plus But u wouldent know that now would u, because ur making assumptions cause uve seen me afk or u checked my ffxi page. If i go off the 1 time ive seen u in action, then ur worse then me. For all that gear u have u seemed to have trouble holding Aspidochelone that ONE time ive seen u in action. But i dont assume that. Y? because i havent seen u play on a regular basis.

I doubt u even know what a bandwagon sam looks like lol. A person like u will only merit with 2 brds or 1brd 1cor on birds with friends. I dare u to seek for a regular party one with no bards or cors only doing 10k an hour. Then ull know what bandwagon jobs look like.

I merit once every month if that and when i do, idc what i have and its mostly friends dragging me. I'm not like most of people on KI and BG, meripo isnt the most hardcore thing ever. Destroying an Apoc DRK in meripo, when it happen, is nothing to fap about. I rather fap about holding Khim or Tiamat with only 2 person during 1h, thats what i call challenge.

The thing is, you come on a forum talking big, like you are superior to some people when you are exactly like them, the only difference being that you post on a forum, not them. The thing you have to understand is that there are people that are playing this game rather good but most of them arent the ones shaking each others penis on KI or BG talking shit about others. The people doing so are most of the time not impresive at all and on the retarded side of Elitism. Elitism as i see it is being badass, no more no less. You have been on Unicorn for very long, i'm sure you know a few names that are older than dirt that now have quit or server switch, that never posted on either forums and yet are way above the common posters here, in skill and/or gear.
What can i say about Aspidochelone, i havent tanked many actually, i remember one or two being /RDM that went very well, others /NIN i solo tanked them and i dont remember having a single problem, either on hate or blinking ability.

34 enmity is rather low (thats what every PLD has when dinging 75 with no AF2/Iron ram basically), especially on JA. 34 is what you have on Flash, not on JA, its more like 50 on JA not including Macu +1. Other stats you gave are hard to take seriously for obvious reasons (its not that i dont believe you but these numbers have nothing impresive to begin with and you dont give them any context).
Bandwagon people i see them daily, pack of 20 per day in any LS i step a foot in and after so many years, i just dont care. As long as they dont open their mouth acting like they are above others like you did, there is no reason to ever flame/attack them. I dont defend them of course, when they ask me i talk to them normally, i'm not here to bash people, but when they act tough or insult an other gimp, something is wrong.

There is a difference between having a shitload of gear and using smart gear. The first can only be achieved by spending a lot of time in game (its my vision, people buying arent worth mentioning), the second is possible for anyone that has access to AH. If you fail #1, its np, people have lives/priorities, if you fail #2, dont act arrogant.

I totally agree with the Seigan/Hasso mode for Dark Knight. From the looks of it (And I could be wrong) SE has already successfully experimented with this on WHM with their new Job Abilities gained at Lv40. The Seigan/Hasso mode should definatly favor the Attack and Magic utilities of the Dark Knight job as I read in the previous post or just get rid of majority of our magic selection because I don't find myself using majority of them (Except Absorb TP, ACC, STR, Drain 1/2, Aspir and occasionally Dread Spikes). Who nukes on DRK? I can MB on DRK but whats the point when I can't put up any good numbers. The sad thing IMO is the Job Abilities that we have to Merit to get should've been gained natively at some point, for example Diabolic Eye (DRKs version of Hasso IMO) and Dark Seal (What should be our Magic Seigan). Add Fast Cast, Magic ATK Bonus, Magic ACC and increase MB Damage to Dark Seal then you just breathed life back into DRKs magic usage. But unfortunatly all of this ranting/crying isnt going to get us anywhere

There's nothing wrong with a drks melee dmg. I've parsed enough to see that. The problem is we lack a good weaponskill. SE has no intention of changing this because if they did they wouldn't have nerfed Catastrophy or made Insurgency so damn shitty. No matter how uber your Guillotine setup is, it doesn't compete with a SAM who can self Skillchain or WAR's Raging Rush/King's Justice, etc. etc.

I have a mage job, I have sam. Im told to come drk(or left on drk) b/c i spank the crap out of everyone most of the time, outside of bigger stuff like HNMs(i go pld ; every now and then I wont place top parse, it happens, cant win them all, but Im usually top 3 in events.

Its true war and sam have an easier time dealing damage, but your play style will determine how big of a gap you give that job/player. In a good pair of hands, drk is a force to be reckon with, and when ppl who hand out jobs, see that, youll be on drk(or w/e job you like playing) more often than not(provided it works for said event).

Ya Im actually quiet torn about what relic I want atm. At first it was going to be Aegis, it seemed like it would benefit my shell a lot to have around. However the difference is much smaller than one would think getting Aegis over shields. The -25% magic/ SB for 300s is still my fav part about the shield though which is really the biggest impact it brings to the table. Recently I started enjoying drk, which made me think I should just go with Apoc, as a lot of ppl have been telling me go with what you enjoy the most, or have fun with the most. Ive been actually very excited about it til now, where I just jump'd back a bit into HNMs whenever they are up or w/e. Never any one on half the time, so its usually about 7 of us on them, Im starting to feel Excalibur is really what I should be aiming for. Nothing I love more than tanking, I just feel that at times, strats change, and plds see less action, once DD zergs jump in.
