I did do search and no one seemed to really get into these two choices. So which is better?

In just normal situations. Not going to melee JoF or anything like that. I guess if you need examples. Prime fights, WSNM, AF quests, NM camping(not NM you would just DoT), Any mob low IT and below...

If you are soloing something you don't want to feed TP then a hornetneedle is your best friend.

But from you listed I wouldn't really be concerned with what is best. None of those fights should merit an optimum or elite group to tackle so just go with whatever you think is the most fun.

However if you really want to be the best at these events then I'll offer what other advice I can.

To my current understanding Joytoy is best for pure TP gain, even with duel wield (correct me if I'm wrong here).

Joy/justice is just mean lots of double attack.

Joy/blau is gonna mean you get some acc and attk. with slightly faster attack rounds than the above but the TP gain doesn't out do just single wielding a joy toy.

But seriously I'm not gonna number crunch this to figure which is the BEST.
If you are just gonna melee at smaller low-man things then just do whatever you want. -Thats just what it comes down to.

Personally I would use:

Blau / Joy and Evisceration is a better WS than anything you get from swords and you get the utility from energy steal.

Blau/Joy with Evisceration, pre F100 Nyzul/DeathBlossom.

Justice&Joy post DB.

I do melee a ton and yes some are lolmobs but I have always been big on melee dmg. Just want best setup for swinging away...

Damage wise, no. DB is better for utility. Less gearswitch to land stuff, and I've noticed it helps ice spikes along nicely. Though mostly it's just whatever you feel like doing. Both setups have their merits.

Not that anyone takes RDM melee seriously, but you've missed the option for ES/Joy as a potent DB combination. The DPS ratings are similar on anything but birds, with a more stable damage output, where as Evis has very high and low spikes due to accuracy.

DB also helps with land rates on spells and Enspell damage as well, again, not that anything anyone ELSE is going to let you melee on is going to resist you much. But the added bonus is helpful none the less.

Essentially, anything Pricing week, Blau Joy. Anything not, ES/JOY

Joy/Justice is not a long term solution unless you're swimming in stones and just want to forgo all WSing.

For no-tp melee soloing, Hornetsneedle is NOT the prime weapon. Ceremonial dagger is. Hornetsneedle is far more likely to deal that 1 damage hit that will feed an enemy TP, and speed is not the name of the game in a no-tp run.

Enhancing Sword is trash. Sell it to morons who don't know its trash and move on.

And I don't see a reason for Blau/Joy with the introduction of Death Blossom. Justice/Joy has always been best in terms of DPS, we just lacked a solid sword WS.

The reason I was wanting to know has nothing to do with wanting to melee Zippy or ask my LS to let me melee HNMs. It was for when I do easier stuff. Mainly I want to be able to have the best Dmg output I can. I decided on Joy/Justice. Removed dagger merits and placed them in shield and parry. Getting Fortitude Torque. I like Evis~ a lot it does nice dmg but joy/justice Double Attack makes up for it.

Far as stones go, if you want to ghetto farm them you can kill only Mama Squid and sleep offspring > zone out/in and repeat. Can farm a stack in under 45 min

People really dont give RDM melee any credit. Again No we wont go melee Kirin or Jormy. But there are many situations and enemies we can have some melee fun with. Dont get me wrong i do enjoy kiting and DoT kills they are fun but watching my swords swing up to five times in one attack round hitting for around 70-100+ dmg not counting en-spell dmg is nice.
