Posible amazing new polearm? Not to mention sexy looking? Throw a sword strap on this baby and you're looking at a 492 delay. Yeah so these evolith's look promising.

Info from BG evolith findings thread.

Thunder is related to the type of Evolith you can put into it, as far as I can tell it means ACC related. However, 1 is such a low size. Grtswrd. wpnskl.: Accuracy +2-4 was size 2~3. That's honestly horrible, one slot was bad enough. Having 1 ACC for WSs is horrible, I'd rather burn my Thal+1s trying to get that +3DMG Augment.

This can have up to 3 slots (maybe more), and they can all be 'larger' than the screen shot shown.

But there isn't many decent stats to put in the slots, at least not that I have seen.

At best this could be a pretty good pole arm, I can't see it ever beating V.fork, but may be possible to make it as good as a Thal.

I'd say it's amazing. Even without augments, it's hard to pass up a D:96 weapon. The delay is pretty awesome too. /SAM + Rajas + Brutal = 6-hit. That would free up body slot for say, Ares Cuirass + ACC Ring or Homam Corazza + Blitz Ring

Wow that is really nice looking. Even if you couldn't throw some amazing augments on it you still have a sweet looking piece of equipment.

Not enough information on the Evoliths are available right now to say for sure how good or bad it'll be. I don't think it'll be as good mostly because all the evoliths that have been found so far are very specialized. So unless you plan to carry a Sarissa geared towards each type of mob, it can lose in versatility unless the DMG 96 can make up for it. Personally, I'd rather get DMG +1-3 on an NQ Thal and use that over this one.

the big draw behind this weapon is a 6 hit without body

From BG might be of interest to this weapon.

Polearm ws: Acc+6

Won't let me post image from there but it's thunder solid downward triangle "4", so an "8" could give more acc than that potentially.

So, the slots can be different, right? I've seen a few of these now and they all have the magic slot, which seems completely pointless to me.

3rd slot being useless or not, this is still an epic polearm. Sure as hell beats that damn dark steel lance model we get everywhere like skystrider, fey lance, etc.

polearm weapon acc can reach 10 as far as i know, but thats only size 6.. the max size etchable in the weapon is 8. so theoretically it could go to 12, but I highly doubt it does, given then the NM who drops it is kinda weak.

crit caps at 3% too i think..
edit: O WOW. 4% is possible.

and the magic slot.. well u can put pretty much any magic triangle evolith in.. but it depends on what element you decide to etch it with.
i did the silly thing of picking darkness cos i wanted to put 'healing magic: casting time -%' which is actually probably the best choice if your mage sj of choice for DRG is /whm or /sch..
only problem is that it currently only drops from Zirnitra.. lol. i think it'll be hard finding people to kill that

I still need to win the lot on cobalt ore before i can get mine made. I was thinking the magic slot could possibly be good for reducing casting time of whatever trigger you use for healing breath. The pet augments are still yet to be seen though, and i think when they expand the system next update they will reappear. Hoping for wyvern hp+ or pet magic acc. I saw the old list from before last update on bg that had spaces held for a lot of good pet bonuses as well.

One could hope for Increased Breath effects like on the Wyrm Helm.

Assuming top end gear and a maxed Sarissa, it seems hard to determine whether or not it would beat out vfork. Vfork gives DA+3%, on normal hits and WS, and the stp+3 allows the use of sword strap with aurum body and white tathlum. This effectively makes vfork a 477 delay weapon. Granted Sarissa can use sword strap as well to bring the delay down to 491.

Vfork:
-DA+3%
-allows use of sword strap, which makes the weapon slightly faster

Sarissa:
-1 more base damage
-More acc and crit rate for drakesbane, although the acc isn't as much of an issue since you're most likely going to be capped in any scenario where drakesbane is appropriate.
-Allows for a non-stp body (although I wouldn't pass up the 6 acc on aurum)

I would test this myself but I've only seen a handful of Sarissas, and none with max evoliths.
