I'm coming back this weekend... But, KI seems very very quiet. Please tell me that there are more people in game lol. :P

Oh, and can any one tell me if there's been any big changes? I played for about 2 weeks back in early July, but prior to that, it had been like two years. D:

I SHALL FURTHER EDIT THIS! :
My old character was on Lakshmi, but I don't know if it's populated enough (I haven't logged on yet. Finished updateing at about 3am this morning.) I don't know how many old friends are still around, or what servers are too dead to enjoy playing on. Some one please help me make an informed decision :D

People definitely still play, my friend! A lot of changes have been made. The three new mini-expansions, we can augment items now (meaning place stats on them, theyre randomly chosen), RNG, SMN, and BST got updated, Synergy was added (Like a way for crafters to choose what augments to put on items), and I think that's it lol. Usually you can just briefly look through SE's updates on the main site and get the gist of it pretty fast. I'm pretty sure you experienced level-sync too. Basicly the game has come a very long way. It's really geared for the higher level players I would say. It makes our lives a lot easier and made further adjustments so that we can customize ourselves. I play on the Asura server so I can't really speak for activity elsewhere, but you'll always have something to do now. Especially with campaign available. Campaign has to be the greatest thing ever.

Let me know if I can help you with anything else or you have any questions (:

SMN got the new ability to use "Avatar's Favor" which pretty much gives you benefits as long as the avatar is out. Garuda gives evasion boost, Carbuncle gives Regen, Diabolos gives refresh, Fenrir gives magic defense, etc. As for RNG they made "Velocity Shot" last an hour(i think) instead of 5 minutes. As for campaign...you'll get the hang of it. I'll give you the basic concept of it though. Basically you sign up to a nation in the past (Doesn't have to be the one you're in current time) and enter "campaign battles" in your nations name. You fight alongside everyone else who is enlisted in campaign battles in the zone. These zones include "East Ron. [s], crawlers nest [s], batallia downs [s], etc." You need to talk to a campaign officer and they'll give you "Allied Tags" which allows you to get credit for fighting these campaign monsters. At the end of the fight you gain experience and Allied Tags(Like Conquest Points or Imperial Standing, just for the past). I'll give you an example: I fights lots of monsters in campaign, deal good damage, and do it for a decent amount of time until campaign ends. I gain 2000 exp and 1000 Allied Notes.

You can also rank up in Campaigns. You can get "evaluated" when you gain a certain number of Allied Notes. The higher your rank, the more experience and stuff you get. As you go up in rank you can also purchase certain things with your Allied Notes such as Cobra Unit (Windy), Iron Ram Unit (Sandy), and Fourth Division gear (Bastok).

Ok, well, gonna do my yearly check in as far as a "Hey, I'm feeling nostalgic, is it worth reactivating?" lol.

For the most part I'm bored with games and MMOs, but FFXI is the one I remember the fondest. Sure, soloability sucks for the most part and servers aren't as populated as they used to be, but I miss it all.

How are things going?

I was pretty anti-abyssea but I'm actually loving it. Also, WoTG storyline and CSs are -amazing- SE has done an incredible job with the expansion.
