Hey all. I've been doing some thread reading, checking the stickies, etc etc.

Having been on these forums for so long, I know better then to just post without searching first.

But that being said, I feel kind of drowned in information so-to-speak.

Here's the deal.

I am a 75 Galka MNK by trade, but also have a 75 Galka BLM. I have been playing since PS2 release. Took a year break in 07, came back late last year.

While I know about some of the better gear to acquire via Nyzule and HM gear. I would just like some direction info.

I haven't been playing a lot as of recent, but I am planning on getting back to playing more often. I have been on a bunch for the past week getting an XP buffer for both my Monk and my BLM.

I do NOT have an end game, sky, HNM, dynamis or Nyzule shell. Nothing. I have my social, and only I am in it =P
I pretty much just hop on, keep to myself and talk to people who see me online and drop /tells.

At any rate. Here's some info:

I have whm sub fully leveled. I am working on RDM.
I have all Elemental Staves.
HQ's are Water, Dark and Thunder. Working on Getting the others, but it takes me a long time to make gil, I grow Platinum Nuggets, then turn them into Ingots, then sell the stacks. So it takes me forever and a day just to make a stack of ingots, no to mention farming the Tree Cuttings.

I have Iggira Weskit, Uggy Pendant. Two Snow Rings. Ether Ring, two Astrals if I want 'em. Moldy Earring. All AF of course. Demon's Helm. Jet pants. RSE2 Feet, can almost NEVER find the RSE2 hands at AH. I have the INT earring from the Ark Angels fight, I forget the name. Bugard Strap+1. The INT thanlum, the good one, name escapes me. Errant Cuffs. I seem to have forgotten what Cape I am using. Pent. Rope,

I of course have gear swapped out for resting/MP refresh etc. Errant body, beak Neck+1, Black Cloak (Hell, I still have my Vermy)etc etc

In other words, I don't have any godly/shiny gear. Not by a mile. mostly AH stuff since I never really got into end game.

I need some advise on where to start.
I am sitting on Just over 2 million gil, but I should have enough for another stack of Platinum Ingots and some other stuff to sell, so I could make another about 500k in about 2 weeks. Maybe a bit more.

Thunder 4/5
Elemental 4/5
Freeze 2
Burst 2


I have some Merits in MND, for back when Monks used to Chi Blast Kirin, but those days are gone, I was thinking about pouring some into INT, Reading some of the Galka BLM threads buried in here have arguments for and against this. (on a side note, it's funny to have all my crit merits from Monk, then whip out my staff and just beat on things to death with crits)

I am sure I left some info out, but if anyone mentions anything, I am sure I can answer it.

Going to try and get a Dyna LS, but there's either dying out or tough to get into these days.
Also going to look for a Nyzule Static, I have up to like floor 80 me thinks.

Any help is appreciated. I hope I didn't annoy anyone with such a long, info deprived post.

Normally I don't post in non-tarutaru BLM topics (just seems odd) but since you've gone a long way to best describe your situation I'll help.

First off, good job with the merits and keep meriting. I would suggest you remove the MND ones (unless you still use em?) and merit INT instead. Also merit some Enfeebling magic. Enfeebling comes with the job so it's very important even if you don't solo.

Your main problem is not being a Galka BLM but this:

I'm also guilty of just hoping on and keeping to myself. My friends don't realize I'm in game half of the time. I'm just that type of person but it's great to socialize every once and a while. The big problem tho is not having a LS with people. I'm not sure if your server has a dedicated forum, if so check there first for an endgame LS. Before you even start with an endgame LS do you have sky, sea, dynamis etc access? If not work on that first. I would suggest doing two things at a time (three if you possibly have the time). Obtain access whilst endgame activity or endgame activity x2. Normally there's nothing of interest to BLMs in sky just Zenith Mitts and gear for easier JSE Ring activation, but in your case that MP from zenith gear is very beneficial. It's up to you whether you want to do sky or not. I'd recommend starting with Dynamis. It offers good gear upgrades in your case and keeps you up to practice with your BLM skill.

Normally I go all out with my BLM, I don't half ass anything (gear included) so it really depends on you and how much you want to gear your BLM.

Make the Aquilo's your first purchase. It offers the biggest benefit out of any other piece.

Dark grip is nice for your sleeps
Ice & Wind if you solo?

Vicious Mufflers are an excellent alternative to Zenith. Solo the NM if possible.
Master Caster's Bracelets will be handy for your BLM in Dyanmis if you haven't spent the CP.

===ring===

Don't worry about JSE Ring.
upgrade Astral to Serket if it's cheap or you have extra gil laying around after buying other gear.

===back===

Surely you must have a Prism/Rainbow Cape, upgrade to Prism?
Solo Poison Taster's Cape NM?
Already own a MP cape? if not buy one?

===waist===

Desert Rope? Not sure how much this is on your server, but that MP+60 if freak'n awesome.

===legs===

Mahatma Slops should be cheap yeah? Sell Jets to fund HQ Errant.

That does help, and thank you.

I should have mentioned that I do have end game experience. I have Kitty pants and Shura gears for my Monk. I have Clearance on Dyna Jueno, Sandy, Bastok, windy and the Icelands.

I do need to get on those Enfeebling Merits. I was going to do that once I capped Thunder and Elemental.

I'll make sure to take off my MND merits (which to this day I still regret since I rarely chi blasted anything), and pour them into INT. It's a lot of meriting, but I am good with it.

I am also looking at the info you provided above and will start working towards those goals.

Your general outline is very helpful, and I thank you for the effort.

Also, I have a Desert Rope, I love that thing.
