Has anyone else played Monster Hunter online?

I am hoping for a similar experience. I really look forward to as much social interaction with other people as possible. That thought of meeting at a tavern or bar to team up on quests or missions for items/exp sounds epic to me. If you have not played go-go-go

I don't know if they should copy Monster Hunter but on that note....

Fuck yeah brother, FFXIV NEEDS more social interaction...for the love of God IT NEEDS MORE SOCIAL INTERACTION. I mean in FFXI wtf did we had lol? Stupid something something hostler or whatever that was in whitegate thing where you rent it for like 500 gils like a cheap motel room where you bring a hooker, and after years of that they added the Open Mog feature which was still lame. But yeah man I know what you mean, we had all these stupid ass outposts for nothing. I was hoping they'd add a bar as well just to chat, maybe Fuken tetra master just to goof off omg wtf didn't they merged tetra master with FFXI?!???!?!?!?!?!?!?!??? I also had some ideas for social interaction, like instead of skilling up killing mobs out in some nasty place with a small group of ppl why didn't they opened some "Adventurer Training Center" kind of like a gym where you'd skill up by doing some exercise while you get the chance of meeting ppl and stuff? lol I dunno. I mean out of all the ppl in the server i Only talk to like 5 come on that's ridiculous and i've been around for over 7 years gimme a break.

Anyways FFXIV is coming soon so we can just expect more social interaction.....I hope. I got selected for the beta test so I'll check out if it's the same crap as FFXI or it looks more social lol.

Social is for RL, beating things down is for online.

You don't get it, social is for RL of course but wtf is the point of playing ONLINE if all you gonna do is beat shit up? You play online 'cause you want to socialize with other people right? If you want to play an RPG with no actual community then you might as well just play any other RPG out there.

There was already enough, tbh. Compared to other MMOs, FFXI's slow-paced nature allowed for more opportunities to interact with other players pretty much anywhere. Most of the content being group-based also encouraged/forced people to form their own friend circles and communities in-game. The /sea system (which quite frankly needs to be in more MMOs) helped as well.

Completely agree. The complete lack of keybindings to actual letters leaves you free to chat whenever you want, and with most abilities on long cooldowns (compared to other games) you aren't spending most your time mashing buttons in quick succession. Camping NMs and HNMs takes hours of basically sitting around doing little other than talking, afking, or doing other stuff with your PC/console. FFXI's level of social interaction depended entirely on how sociable you wanted to be.
