So as i started to view what i'd slap onto my blu as far as this ebon stuff goes... then ... i ran into this nonsense.

Only thing i could offer as far as reasoning, is that ninja's don't practice a disciplined form of martial arts. As such mnk and pup both use the art of fist and samurai the art of the blade. On the opposite side of the spectrum, you look at the vest set, which one could come to the conclusion that the jobs included for the set, are in fact a more "precise" and "calculating" sort of focus(thus the dexterity and subtle blow). It may sound silly when trying to relate it to a game that tends to contradict itself a lot but that's the best I can come up with...

I'm kinda surprised that they didn't slop nin on the togi set and just leave the vest set to dnc and thf, but I guess it's a way to "even" up the gear? I honestly wouldn't get too upset about the gear honestly, it's all over priced and unless you feel dedicated to get the absolute best evolith that can be placed in each piece of armor, the gear isn't worth the effort.

Oh fucking no. PUP got put on a togi set (something it should be wearing), and NIN didnt.

it's really not even that good for NIN :/ QQ more, it's not like you dont already have better options.

the only thing i could possibly whine about is the feet, and then i figured out that nin actually could wear that and moved on. NIN has better and widely available options everywhere else... if memory serves.

No argument here, evolith for XI can be compared to giving a new saddle to a nearly dead horse. SE was hoping this and the early bonanza to be a turning point but this changed nothing.

Go behind a garage a shoot your self. Nin was never useless it serves its purpose wonderfully, though it's over looked like a "read hared stepson". Nin is oddly the only job i do not regret leveling, i just can't say the same for my 4.

Ninja became obsolete the first time PLD/NIN was used.

And PLD/NIN became useless the moment NIN/DRK was able to use Yonin. Anything a PLD/NIN can tank a NIN/DRK + Yonin can tank it better. More then a dozen times i have had to clean up after a PLD/NIN lost hate and was helpless to stop 1/2 the mage's getting slaughtered.

nin/drk could do this before yonin, but now it's much easier.

-50% physical sets are easilly available without D.rings.

-26% magic sets are available with the AH and 2 NMs.

Daylight +movement is available.

So pld is better if you're trying to tank a hnm with only a smn for support, since it can cure4 it's self?
Everywhere else, NIN can usually tank it better with just refresh and haste.

Had ToAU and WotG never been released, you'd be absolutely right.

Problem is, SE wised up to how overpowered Stun and Utsusemi were.

NIN + PLD is a great combo on old content, not so much on anything released in the last 4 or so years.

I'll happily go tank anything on NIN, but not for a second think I'm better for the job than PLD. Because that shit just ain't the truth.

Not that I think ninja is a poor tank(lets face it, anybody can tank anything these days), but until ninja gets something along the lines of Atonement, its really one of the worst available options. Red mage is more sturdy, paladin is more useful, and samurai and dark knight are better for basically anything that isn't Tiamat or DI.
