Looking for advice as to where to setup camp for this key drop.


I know there are four collesium type circles accesible on the second map. Can we fall down any one of them?

Also, we must fall on the ledge correct? Are the coffer mobs near that ledge?

There are three ledge in each "circle". Look carefully and drop down to the highest one. This will give you access to a short tunnel where ONE Ahriman eye will respawn every 15min. Then, at the end of the tunnel/hallway, there is a big room where 4 different types of demons (arch, blood, doom...etc) will be. All of those mobs will drop keys.

Once you clear the room, you can just camp in there. Hallway/tunnel isn't the best spot since Ahriman will respawn there.

There are 8 coffer locations:

There are 4 circles where you can drop. Each highest ledge can lead to one room where the coffer is (where 4 demons are). The coffer is located in the corner of the room, opposite from the entrance of the room.

The second highest and lowest ledge can lead you to the center of four rooms (like a big cross-road with a big hole in the middle). Keep in mind that since "cross-road" has a big hole in the middle, you will have to move/drop from different circles reach all of them. You will understand when you are there.

Once you have the key, you can solo the coffer pretty easily

What is the respawn rate on the coffer if there are multiple paladins in the party that need the same item?

Correct me if I am wrong. As far as I know, it is 10-50 minutes (Random).
My suggestion: Get everyone a key in the party formation, then go coffer hunt by yourself later (sub whm or buy 12xSneak Oil and 12xPrism Powder).

That is what i was thinking as well....same with the coffer keys for the other locations. After all this time playing, today was the first time in Castle Zvahl....pretty depressing, but i love that place. I can't wait to solo in there.

solo as in sneak and be very afraid >< not solo as in kill everything in ur path solo wise most mobs r VT to me at 59. i got my key today surpisingly the east key pld has the mobs r the hardest 4 all the keys (arch deomns, the drk version of demons, were hitting me 40 90~200 w/o critting damage ive nvr been hit to anything close to that by an IT, which usualy hit me for 70 and this was just a VT.) a pld will have to hunt but i got 2 keys in 30mins r so and same thing most other plds tell me. I suggest hunt the other demons and airhams more then anything, which r a more r less rare spawn. then I logged off shortly after getting my key because w/ blm friend wanted to do his af body although he said he wouldnt use it ><

As long as you have prism powder and sneak oil, solo in the castle is safe and fun. You can to run between the demons and wave at them. ^^

It took me LONG hours to get one key... I don't want to mention the exact number here. It was a major pain. >_< Bring a lucky egg or thf if you have one.

The eye and demons are not rare spawns. The Ahriman respawns every 15 minutes in the hallway. All demons respawns 10-12 minutes in the room.

Seraphiel, what kind of party did you bring to the table for the key camp?

and did you just camp the hallway after killing the ahriman.. or did you stay on the ledge..?? trying to figure out the optimal plan for this..thanks for the hep!

but do you really suggest camping IN the room where the 4 demons spawn... , that seems riskky as they could pop while fighting one?

My party was 1xPLD (me), 1xSAM, 1xRNG, 1xRDM, 1xBLM and 1xWHM. We did not get a key during the first night (many many hours), so we added a Lv60 Thf on the next day.

Ahriman respawn in the hallway every 15 minutes and it is a pain (or, annoying) to kill it even at Lv61 (Flare + EyesOnMe = Dead PLD). Since it is a very bad idea to have an Ahriman respawn next to you while you are fighting any deamon, I suggest NOT to camp in the hallway.

The room is very big and there are only 4 demons at any given time. If you kill the Ahriman first, that will give you 15 minutes to clear the room before the Ahriman comes back again. Therefore, if you kill the demons one by one, they will respawn one by one too. Thus, camping in the big room is not dangerous. Not to mention that Demons are very easy if compares with Ahriman. You will be able to kill one demon before the next one pops.

The crossroad area (where you can find 4 coffer respawn points) is very dangerous because there are higher level demons and multiple Ahriman eyeballs there. It is not a good idea to bring your entire party there to find the coffer. If one person lost his/her invisible/sneak, then entire party will be in serious danger. That's why I suggest soloing the coffer. It will be much faster and safer.

Yes. All 60-61 when we were in the castle.
