They were just really cautious about it, you know how most of the time JP are very cautious like that. They didn't want SMN to be too powerful so the final product was ffxi's SMN class.

I kinda hope they dont add smn class or anything like it in XIV. Unless they make it strong enough to compete with other powerful jobs it will suck like XI.

Id agree with that if it wasnt for the "Oops we made 2handers too powerful lets nerf them all But give Sam a kickass new job ability"

I would like to see an easier way to optain relics for those that don't live on this game...lol (wishful thinking)

the 2 new avatars promised (Asura and Yojimbo)

Expansion: I think a good expansion would be to recreate the events for the original Final Fantasy implemented into FFXI. I mean, I would love to take a 6 man party into a lvl 60Cap Fight with Garland. A lvl 75 Cap 18 man alliance to fight Chaos. 6 man 60 Cap Fiend fights, 75cap 18 man alliance fights with fiends at the end for special items. Travers through the story, the lands, the dungeouns.... Think about it. I think it would be a winner for any die hard FF fans.

Unlimited Merit Points (or atleast the ability to unlock and fully merit all SMN Spells)

i like the idea of homage to older FFs, although usually that doesn't make sense and isn't possible in the case of the story.

I once thought it'd be cool if the Walk of Echos zone was a place where you could fight battles but also 'revisit the past' by taking part in BCs based on the battles from previous FF games.

Like, there could be one where you fight Chaos (a Vampire lol), Lich (Corse), Marilith (Medusa), Kraken (Sea Monk) and Tiamat (Hydra probably). Size issues but at least it'd fit the theme..
Or one where they pit you against a superpowerful mech mob called Death Machine (aka WarMech), which is essentially the first coming of 'Omega' lol..

Seems like a bit of a novelty but at least it'd probably be enjoyable..

Another stupid idea I had was that of a merit ability that would only be unlocked if you have 10/10 in both group 1 and 2 merits for the job.. but at the same time be pretty limited in use, but powerful.. I was thinking, 1-hr abilities.. which are likely mini-versions of their 2hr, or something unique.
for BLM, maybe the ability to cast Ultima, WHMs that ability that removes Weakness, RDMs getting a double/triple cast of Chainspell only, lol...
