hello, it has come to my attention that there exist ways to bot those hnms (not sure if its old or not), can people here confirm that?

apparently it's a bot that tells u when worm/ixion repop as long as you have a person using it in each of their zones which is a 100% unfair method imo considering that they're on 4-5 hour windows and require fair playing LSes a great load of effort to fairly camp them.

is this going to be another NASA/FFXIAPP thing which none can do anything about to stop it??

The only person that can change it is SE, they can make the fight instanced/force popped or crack down on the bots harder. Nothing wrong with expressing concern about botting, if there was no concern then there would be no drive to change it, not that you care if you bot but there are people that don't bot out there.

SE won't do anything about bots, just accept it. They've been aware of bots since the Zilart era and they still continue to make these spawns.

I never said SE is going to directly do something. They have in the past and they possibly will again, I have heard the "SE won't do shit lol" before (salvage bans anyone?). I was just saying that if you don't show any attention to an issue then why wouldn't SE think we care about it as a community. If there is some issue towards it then they will know we don't like it. I am not saying start a petittion or going around and declare war, but keeping it as it is, an issue, is smarter imo. Too bad if you bot, deal with the fact people don't like it but don't go around trying to say "lul who cares" because obviously ppl do.

The problem is the commnity has spoken and SE does nothing or half asses it.

At the last NA fanfest Pikko from Allah and another XI community site (I think a french one, can't remember) asked about botting where SE asked them the "How do you know they bot? Do you have any proof" bullshit, I'm not sure what SE is thinking but if they were telling the truth about all they have to go on for evidence is chat logs they're pretty much proving how bad their detection is.

Yes they gave us Einherjar after complaining since the start of the CoP era for a shot at non sky abjurations, but to me it still felt like something to distract us from the HNM issue, the way I see it they just gave botters more chances to sell abjs or gear themselves up. And yes they got rid of NASA/FFXI App, but here's the thing... those were commerical bots, nothing's stopping a LS willing to sell gil or get members to chip in to hire a scripter to make them an exclusive bot.

It's not rocket science. It's obvious the only way to end botting is getting rid of the reason for it, SE can keep the stuff hard to obtain and make kings/wyrms/etc. forced pops but instead they still think that what their doing is a good idea, despite how much the community is getting tired of it. That's why I don't do HNMs anymore, there's so many 21+ hour pops that people go after I feel like it's a job just to camp them since I'm on call 24/7 it feels like.

Yep that is the same reason I don't go after them either. I also hate how people become when they camp those things and only do those events. I wasn't suggesting anything radical, i was just saying it is important that we don't lose the fact that botting is still an issue or else what would SE care at all if we didn't care.

Stop bitching about bots like it's a new problem. The only ones that generally bitch are the ones outside HNMLSs that couldn't kill these monsters to begin with anyway.

This isn't a new problem and seeing how long it took SE to take down Maury and his FFXI APP empire, there's nothing going to be done about these problems until no one will care anymore because everyone will be playing FFXIV.

There are plenty of linkshells out there that are capable of killing these mobs easily, they just don't have the BOTS to beat compeition. I really hope FFXIV does some instanced things to eliminate dealing with cheaters and everyone can have a fair shot at that content.

Instanced mobs wouldn't be a bad idea. But to be purely instanced would be boring as all fuck. Sometimes random NM's you come across make the game that much more enjoyable (even if they kick your ass.)

This. There's plenty of shells that can beat them that don't want to bother with botting. Since lets face it, there's nothing that hard about Zilart Kings anymore if you've done other fights.

Ive seen plenty of eager young shells try HNMs, end up claiming and getting annihilated by the easiest of them such as Faf.

If you're that eager to fight these NMs you get into a shell that does them on a daily basis. That's how it works, that's how it has always worked and it's thanks to SE in the long run.

Funny to see all these botters rationalize what they do like they're the only ones capable of downing hnm. New shells wipe because they're smaller, and have little experience with the hnm (since they're almost always claimed by botting linkshells with superiority complexes). It's a shame that people willing to cheat/abuse the system win out in FFXI, but that's how it is till SE figures out how to deal with third party programs better, which will probably be FFXIV, and even then it's not guaranteed. But seriously, get off your high horses since you already sacrificed your integrity for E bodies.
