Excatly my point, thank you. Although your opinion on this matter is admirable, you and anyone else that wants to keep this issue alive are 3 years too late. What you see SE doing is the extent of what they will do. With a new MMO release to worry about, how much effort do you think SE will exert to fight a losing battle that's been going on as long as the game has been online? They stopped one programmer who got so blatantly obvious about his activities that they had to do something, nevermind the fact that the guy got rich in the process. All they mustered as far as I know was a cease and desist order against him; no anti hacking programs were implemented. Do you believe SE will personally hunt down each programmer of such hacks on an individual basis?
I told people to stfu if they're not able to comprehend the truth of the matter. I could care less who bots and who doesn't. It doesn't change the fact that because of SE's reluctance to change the system, botting has become deeply engrained in the mechanics of this game; that's the unfortunate truth of the matter regardless of what side of the issue you're on. It's on the same level as someone bitching that life isn't fair because, when it comes down to it, it's mostly the people that inhabit the world that make life unfair; but that isn't changing anytime soon. People will always have ambitions that will supercede someone else's and just because this is a game, doesn't change the fact that some people playing it will continue to act in this manner.
Your comparison is too broad, this is a problem that can EASILY be fixed and it all lies on the hands of the developers and people who are in control of updating this game. Whereas life is in the hands of many not just one or a small group ( developers). This is something that can be fixed and I do believe that even still with a new MMO coming they can put thought towards it. They are even coming out with something new at that vanafest, there is still things they can change for this game it isn't dead.
I don't believe they will personally hunt down every bot maker out there but they are obviously taking some initiative in dealing with the problem by taking out the most popular/commercial one.
