If you're serious about what you did, you're dumb.... You went to an RMT site and got hacked cause you believed an RMT tell that got sent to you in-game was really a GM. Every time you log in there's messages about it, it's nothing new... So congrats, you fell for an RMT trap and lost your account now. Best thing to do is call SE's customer support and hope they can recover your account.

How did you fall for this :X Only thing I can suggest is calling SE and going through that long process.

It always looks 'legit'. But no GM will tell you that your account is banned and then ask you to visit a website.
SE has released several statements -- Even the one right before you hit Play, warning people that they don't tell you to go and enter your information on a website. Also, when a GM contacts you, their name appears as [GM]Insertnamehere>>, not Asuwfrjn>> I am [GM] blahblahblah.
Also, if you did your homework, playonline-account isn't a square-enix website address, regardless of logos et-al, it was made for duping saps like yourself out of their account info.
There have been plenty of warnings about this, I'm still shocked (I guess shocked is too strong a word, maybe stupefied?) when people fall for this trick. What do you want SE to do? Flashing neon lights every time you go to a website? "PLZ 2 NOT BE STOOPID HEER"?

http://http://www.yo...h?v=372Ah0Z_L1w without the spaces. But you put a double http:// in front of the link the first time, I think that's why it didn't work.

Wow, I guess RMT does have a purpose after all: weeding out the stupid people.

If it was a real GM your ass would've been pulled ro Mordion, stripped, and anal probed then banned right there.

You fell for the trap and now your account is picked clean. Even if you get it back, S-E will not reimburse your items that are gone or dropped.

Square-Enix will never personally ask for your information, they don't need to know information they already have. :P

Yea, you fell for something I don't think even a child would fall for.

Well that depends... if you mean in-game than yes you are correct. Outside of the game is different though. If you are in a live SE chat with them they do ask you for information like your POL password and ID etc for most cases.

  • That had to hurt. I felt it too.
  • PipPipPipPipPip
Someone isn't reading the messages POL is splattering all over when you're mashing OK.

I am sorry to say this but common sense should have told you that website isn't legitimate.

I'm going to do this in BIG, bold letters for you: http://www.playonline.com/

If the website you see in those RMT tells DOES NOT MATCH that ^ then it is YOUR OWN FAULT for not listening to your own common sense and to the warnings that is in the PlayOnline Viewer right after you hit the PLAY button.

Read this from my sticky here that I posted back on June 28, 2009: http://killingifrit....ost__p__3778460

... and this from August: http://killingifrit....ost__p__3796656

NO [GM] tell will immediately tell you that you have been found to be involved in RMT activities.

NO [GM] will tell you the reason why you will be banned; such information is rarely or never told to you even over the phone.

EVERY [GM] tell is properly formatted with the correct website shown because they are cut and paste from the book and rules they have to follow.

Examples of CORRECT [GM] /tell:
 [GM] Aselin>> Good evening Adventurer...

Examples of INCORRECT [GM] /tell:
 Biszqua>>

[GM] Biszqua : You have been found to be in RMT activitys, visit http://www.play-online.cn for more informations.

 Biswwp>>

[GM] Biswwp : To prevent the risk of banned, you are required to visite http://secure.playonline.com.cn to prevent this.

 Bisyzzjkl>>

GM Bisyzzjkl > Youhave been accuzed of RMT activities, visit playonline.squareenix.cn to discuss this issue to prevent you from getting banned.

I should probably make a sticky for this somewhere here, and HOPE that people would read it and not fall for this again.

I'm sorry that you lost your account, but there is little you can do now except hope that you can get an account rollback and/or get your account restored to you if you have the proper identification and information needed to do so.

Valid SE websites besides that one above:
https://secure.squar....com/cisweb/app
http://support.na.sq....php?la=1&id=20
http://fanzone.playo.../lscom/index.do

Write that down somewhere.

In fairness, if you got an false GM tell that wouldn't have the [GM] tag in their name like that. They usually have some normal name, but claim to be a GM instead.
