Everyone knows whats going down on Haiti right now. hundreds of humans, just like us are dying, suffering, going through alot and they need our help.

If you can pay monthly 9.95$+++ for a game, I'm sure you can pay something more productive for Gods sake.

fuck that, it takes a natural disaster to get people to open up their wallets to other parts of the world when theres are people dying all the time in this country. what about all the famine and other shit wrong with this country, or things that are even worse in others? it's fucking ridiculous that it takes something like this to get people to start giving to others. really wanna help? go volunteer at some place, help tutor some kids or some other bull shit. shit like this is ridiculous.

That is how the world works. People like to turn blind eye to those troubles here but when it is something big and publicized they will get off their ass and spend their large sum of cash for it. I am mostly talking about celebrities, you notice how they all JUMP to give and give only to get more publicity. Just how the world works I suppose.

Something about people being ignorant enough to act surprised when a natural disaster happens. Because having a population center close to an active fault line or a city on the coast with the average elevation being below sea level isn't asking for it at all right?... I am not completely cold hearted and I understand that some people cannot help where they live. It's people who don't understand why shit happens and then freak when it does that piss me off.

I couldn't agree more.

Anyway, my opinion on all this is maybe this is the way for the world to balance out the population. Maybe because parents dont raise their children to be responsible human beings and no one teaches them about the consequences of sex (and the idiot parents who want "Just one more" and we end up with families with 6 kids who then turn around and have 4-5 kids each, selfish fucks) Maybe this is a higher power saying "Stop fucking!"

I swear they need to find a way to sterilize people at birth and have it reversible when they prove that they are going to be decent parents, or even better, if they WANT kids!

Thank you Vasectomy! If you dont know what that is, your probably one of the ignorant children I was referring to. After your done Wiki'ing "Vasectomy" Go read a book!

Pretty sure the reason we have dumb fucks in parts of the world no logical human would live in is because they over populate their home and have to migrate for food. See: European "colonization" of America etc. It's all just dumb fucks over populating the land, then moving elsewhere when there aren't enough resources for them. Not that I don't agree with you whole heartedly, but some people just wind up with the shit areas to migrate to because they have smaller guns than the people who take the better ground.

tl;dr the only reason we're in america and haitians are in haiti is because our ancestors had blood lust

Aaand nothing of value was lost.

The idea that this earthquake has created a humanitarian crisis is complete bullshit. Haiti always is and always will be a humanitarian crisis. The idea that a bunch of former slaves are capable of self-governance is asinine. The best thing that could happen for Haiti is a return to colonialism. Which is fortunately for them exactly what Obama will do for his future democratic voters.

I thought of it myself. The part where NOW that a disaster occured is when people around the world decide to help. Even tho Haiti has always been an economy wreck. It really saddens me that these is how the world runs.

I do hope that there will be something left in eachother's minds that theres no need to wait for something like this to happen to start helping. The world is suppoust to help eachother 24/7 no matter the conditions.

I'm from Puerto Rico and I joined a group to deliver personally what we were able to donate to them. Cause I know that I did wrong just like everyone else to forget completely that they existed and decide to help when everyone else is doing it and its all over the news. But I will happily, with no problems whatsoever, go and say sorry to the island for being so selfish.

Maybe thats a thing you can think of.

I understand that people see suffering and they want to do something about it to alleviate their guilt. However, our military and diplomatic efforts in Haiti have stretched back 100 years and every year Haiti gets worse. Forty percent of Haiti's national budget is foreign aid. The IMF and world bank have pumped in well over a Billion dollars (all of which debt has simply been cancelled). The knee jerk reaction that "We need to do more" could not be more wrong. How much aid have we given Jamaica or Barbados? None that I know of but these Caribbean island nations are pretty successful. The Dominican Republic? Also reasonably successful on the SAME FUCKING ISLAND as Haiti. There is NO explanation for Haiti's desperate situation other than Haitians themselves. It is not anyone else's fault.

Ok now go find every poor, war torn or otherwise destroyed country and divide up all of your money between them.

Assuming that's a joke, considering the huge percentage of black culture that has French as one of their native tongue's.

As for the rest of this, I've always been too Jewish (and broke) to willingly hand out money to anyone. Not that the Haiti situation isn't sad (but frankly, as it's been already said, there's plenty of human loss happening well before this incident), but I need every dime I can get. Oh, and as for being able to afford FFXI clearly means I can give away some money to a small percentage of what's wrong in this world, that's horse. This is one of the few luxuries I have. It also just means that I have another 16 dollars that I can't give away.

This is a whole different issue. People see disasters and quickly blame God for it.
