Returning to the game after a long while and I see Dragoon is picking up, however ; Does it parse and is it still considered ideal in endgame scenarios? Is one better off generally just leveling a DRK or SAM, or can DRG shine? I may as well ask the DRG forum for their opinion. I miss the job, love the job, but last time I leveled it the DRG stigma killed my experience.

No added preservatives, no artificial flavours. The real thing since 1886.

Yes it is worth it. I've been leveling it recently and am currently level 69 and its some of the best fun i've had in a while on ff. The stigma has lessened a bit due to colibri merit parties and the need for piercing damage so you wont need to worry about that. Just gear yourself up properly and you'll be fine.
P.S if you decide to level drk and i find out your full timing an Onyx set i will hunt you down and surgically remove every hair folical from your nether regions.

When my DRG was 75, I was always asked for in colibri parties, so meriting will not be a problem for you. As for end game, it can do just as well as any other melee class. On the HNM section, it depends on how your LS roles.

Desired melee jobs for things not merits are SAM > Other 2handers > MNK > 1 handers.
For merits, just put DRG about even with SAM depending on the person making the pt.

Just make sure you keep your skill's capped out otherwise once you hit AU zones you'll be severely gimped.

Worth shouldnt come into it
People should level jobs they like to play rather then jobs that are popular because they end up being the people that whine when they are made to come brd whm etc to events
frankly it gets up my nose every time, how do you not realise you dislike a job after 75 levels?

Not to mention bandwagon players usually blow at their job. Better to enjoy it that way you'll enjoy focusing on being a better player

1-75 is for the most part one aspect, leveling. You can stop and do other things with that job but unless it's your first or second you're probably just going to get it to 75 as fast as possible and do nothing else until then.
The job might be fun to level but it might be horrible when it comes to other events. Anyone who levels a job and hates everything about it including leveling might have some issues, but hating a job because of certain events shouldn't be strange. In the case of DRG; leveling for 75 levels with a wyvern by your side and when you do other events having that wyvern never stay alive could make someone hate that job, since it is the main attraction. There are plenty of others that are one way for leveling and completely different when used in typical endgame scenarios.
