How Important?

Is it absolutely necessary to have thief leveled as a subjob for DRK 60+?

Would it stop me from getting invites to events in the future?

I wouldn't say it's neccessary, but it is nice ^^.
It's a situational sub for sure, fi you're stuck in a party with a NIN and no THF for trick-attack, you might find TAing weaponskills onto your tank kinda fun and beneficial for the party. I've always been a fan of /thf, but more often than not I'll find DDs in my party, or even myself choosing /WAR, /SAM or /NIN (level dependant, of course)

In my opinion, /nin and /sam are the only two worth-while SJs for DRK for EXP PTs.

My reasoning is this:

/sam for parties with a tank.
/nin for parties without a tank.

Most parties I've been in have been 4 melee/nin, and 2 support (either RDM+ brd,cor,smn or SCH+ brd,cor)

I tend to think that /thf and /war are useless, since they offer no defense capabilities.

Taking less damage means less MP used to cure you (which leads to mages' MP lasting longer)

Taking less damage could also imply killing the mobs alot faster due to better subs like /sam as well. It depends on what is in party and how geared they are. A slow party will kill you faster and use more MP than well geared one will.

Yeah thats for sure, /sam and /nin will be your most used subjobs. /thf is as Miller said very situational and its always nice to have at 37 just incase. As a matter of fact im gonna take it to 37 once drg is 75.

Nice, sounds awesome. I plan to take Thief, Sam, Nin to 37 but I just wanted to make sure my DRK wasnt going to start collecting dust later on without the extra subjobs leveled.

:] thx guys

It's an area in Ro'Meave that the door open opens during a full moon, once behind you can get a key item to open it anytime.
