Best of luck and mighty adventures to those who want to return. I'm holding out until XIV. There's no incentive to me in being 99 that would be worth the time investment vs soon playing a game in HD and exploring something new.

My memories of hitting my 75's and skillchaining with mb's are how I'll remember XI fondly. Being a higher number in an eventually forgotten account won't enhance the memories.

I'm still playing, If I had quit I can't see how an increase in level cap would entice me to play again.

I can't think of anyone who quit because the level cap was 75.

Well I'll play it by ear, i may play again, or I may go to 14. I'm not sure anymore. The lvl 99 is great though. It gives people something to do again, a lot of people quit, myself included, because of boredom.

I've been waiting for a big update like this to come back full time! I normally am around when expansions come out, and periodically for Mission updates. I've been in significant decline though, and this is finally a large gameplay expansion I can jive with! Because how can I even say I ever played FFXI without saying " I WAS LEVEL 99!!!!!!!"

servers being merged was nice.. but when they anounced a level cap raised to 99.. i deleted my character and cancled the account, fun times in game.. but i'm threw with level grinding.. back to first person shooters!

When I quit in September it was because I was tired of the drama that went with alot of the end game.
As far as I was concerned FFXI was dead to me and I was just going to move on, but a friend of mine
sent me a link to the VanaFest updates page and I was extremely surprised at the magnitude of the changes.

Lvl. 99 has me really excited, but the job changes and the promise of low-man end game (they mentioned you would
only need a single party for AF3) really seals the deal for me. If I come back it will be because I will be able to play
more casually with my close friends and actually seeing progress whether it be exp'ing our favorite jobs or messing
with Abyssea.

So hopefully SE delivers and they won't do anything stupid to screw up what could potentially be a very needed and
welcomed change to this game. ( '.')b

I wish I would've kept my character. I would've loved to have a lv.99 BST/RNG/RDM.

I might start back up once they reopen Odin. I'll probably just level BST. A Lv.99 BST sounds amazing.

I was thinking of coming back when I stumbled on the new info while randomly checking KI for the first time in forever, but it's looking unlikely at this point. Almost everyone I knew either quit or got banned for duping Salvage gear. I think there are a few people left but they're all on EU time. Plus I have a year and a half worth of content to catch up on and of course you can't even so much as wipe your own ass in this game without the help of at least 5 other people.

Been looking at this since i came back weeks before news of this came out.

I was pretty damn shocked when this hit me, never felt kind of pissed off.

You all want to be level 99 huh? Good for you all, just remember its gonna be a race to get to level 80.

But here are a few questions I wouldnt mind being awnsered:

1) Merit points invested;

We still keeping them even AFTER the cap is done or is SE gonna convert them to "Pre-exp points gained"?
I've seen people have spent alot of time getting these things.

2) Exp gain; With level 80 to 99 cap now poping out, I wanna know. They gonna increase the exp gain for these new levels?
Some parties will crank out 400+ in chains with good pullers even more with exp ring. But what about those that arent lucky to land
some kick@$$ groups?

You guys willing to spend at least half to a whole day just to probbaly gain 2 levels?

Lastly) Subjobs: Hope you all are ready to grind your butt more than a stripper could do in one night.
I've noticed that some jobs are gonna have multi subjobs for w/e is needed. Best you level them now so you dont fall behind.

I just wonder if they're gonna make sure that 80/49 subjobs are gonna have the spells/abilities/etc that come with that level.
