Does anything change at 99 for subjobs?

I've been thinking a lot about 99 ranger. Shooting more than one piece of ammo at a time sounds great. Hopefully AF3 will be awesome. It doesn't seem like much will change subjob wise at 99 but I'm curious if I'm overlooking things. Will NIN, SAM, and WAR still be the primary subjobs?

Almost no job adds anything in the 38-48 range; I don't expect SJ choices to change.

Sekko for /sam would be the biggest thing I can think of that they mentioned.

- SE said that they are considering changing Sekkanoki to an SJ-able level.
- Aggressor is relevent for KC RNGs, I suppose.
- Quick Draw could be a nice benefit for /COR
But offhand, the best benefit seems to go to /NIN (specifically, Innin).
-enmity (good)
-evasion (irrelevant)
crit rate+30% (although ranged crits generally suck, +30% is nothing to sneeze at)
+accuracy (maybe good)
The crit rate bonus is already verified to apply to ranged attacks, but it's unknown whether or not the accuracy bonus also applies to ranged.

glad to know someone else saw the first thing i noticed for RNG when lv 80 cap becomes available. innin may be godly depending on its potency.

even if it's nerfed into a crit+15% and enmity-10 while subbed it'd still be pretty nasty.

I was reading Elmer's VanaFest (finally someone wrote more stuff down).
Might just be a grammar error...

Two examples of possible future Abilities were one that consumes an arrow and bullet at the same time for double damage, and another that when used at the proper distance, reduces damage slightly while decreasing Enmity.

If SE wants to add a JA that relies on proper distance, they need to introduce an in-game distance gauge. Period. The current system is tolerable if you're playing on a console or hate knowing basic information, but if they want to make a JA with a cooldown that relies on distance, they have to update their atrocious UI.

Uh...
WAR gets Aggressor
MNK gets Counterstance (and Chi Blast, but meh)
THF gets TH2
WHM gets the Afflatuses, additional teleports, Cure IV, Haste, Regen II, Flash, Protect(ra) 3, and Repose
BLM gets Warp 2, Sleep 2, Stun
RDM gets Convert, Refresh, Haste, Cure 4, Raise, and Sleep 2
DRK gets Absorb-TP
RNG gets Velocity Shot and Shadowbind
NIN gets Yonin, Innin, Dual Wield 3, Subtle Blow 3
BLU gets Chain Affinity
DNC gets Haste Samba, Stutter Step, Violent Flourish, and Reverse Flourish
SCH gets Accession, Manifestation, Erase
Not that these are exceptionally relevant to RNG as a main job, but hardly "almost no job gets anything".

I meant "anything meaningful." I know full well about all the various spells, but only a handful of meaningful additions occur as regards Ranger. Context.

Just to stay on topic with the OP: If /cor keeps Quick Draw as sub then I just might be all about RNG/COR at 99.
Think about it.. with the amount of AGI+ Rng already has available; Quick Draw just might be what Rng needs

quick draw with a culverin and heavy shell outdamage a cor main? since rng gets all the agi+ on the planet available, and almost all the same options as far as MAB+ in gear. only difference is cor can use their SJ to /blm or /rdm for some MAB.

sounds like we got a new use for Osode Macros
but yeah it is pretty ridiculous we can throw +40 AGI in 4 armor slots.
Rng marksmanship ranking and slugs with corsairs magical pew pew,
Now thats some DD versatility. Especially if somehow the door is open
on QuickDraw being featured with Xbows.

why would you use it with an xbow if you can equip culv + heavy shell, or even just regular old hellfire+1 + silver bullets

if nothing else it'd be a nice option for stuff like jailer of temperance.

No guarantees that the next 24 levels will make you a god among men able to treat Kirin as though he were Bigmouth Billy. Hell, look at the old-school HNMs that are 20-25 levels below the current cap (King Arthro, Lumber Jack, Serket, Roc, and Simurgh). They're still a fair beating to some or all jobs solo, even if they can mostly be done with only two or three people compared to the old alliances.
