They may make it randomly assign the server and require worldpasses again. Starting from scratch getting the moolah together may be a pain.

It's been confirmed, players will be allowed to pick servers on character creation.

If they follow the naming scheme they use in beta the servers will be:

Garland
Emperor
Golbez
Exdeath
Kefka
Sephiroth
Shadowlord
Garbanth

There doesn't seem to be a FF3/FF8 villian server, and I may have added some that shouldn't be on that list.
