Best PUP equipment atm?

The only thing I can say in regards to losing 3% haste on your automaton is that it won't make as much of a difference in the days to come considering the automaton doesn't benefit from buffs like March. Add on top of that, the master/automaton damage ratio is going to be even more lopsided after the update bar some sort of update making the automaton more powerful as well, and you really won't be losing out on too much.

There's also the Spurrer Beret/Pantin Dastanas combo, to give your Auto an additional 8% haste (I might be wrong on that, I just remember head being 5 and hands being 3, sucks only being a whopping lv32 PUP), so if you really want to focus on that side of things, I believe both would be really required to make much of a noticeable difference.

And I admit, my sets were likely not the best period. I really just ran this through my head and pulled out the gear I could think of at the time.

@Az

I really didn't throw the best h2h out there because I wanted this set to reflect a more common puppetmaster. It's not like I'd make a gear set for Monk containing Shen's or Spharai, so I'm going to make one here using a baseline h2h that everyone can attain, that's not that bad.

And there's no way in hell I'm paying the prices people want for Hades +1, so those can kiss my rear. For soloing, I'll use NQ, but for DD you can bet your ass it'll be Waghs.

zahl just let you know, with yhels setup above and bream sushi with the haste set you get 429 acc, which will cap on ALL mmj but nins (440s) and thfs (490+). Add to fact his setup does not include shens (people like me have them, hades+1 should at least be staple for comparison or oberons with 10 hth) means you will be over cap, or very close even for nins. And if you really want to get picky breram+1 is going tp put you at 435 acc and with shens 441. Plus rajas could be traded for another 7 acc ring raing you to 445 is had to be, but also taking you from a 16 hit to 17 hit.

So what I am getting at is bream+1 will cap you at MMj on all but thf mmj which is what happens with EVERY job pretty much anyhow.

The issue I have with all this comparisons is that I think /war will still trump /drg just because zerk is so amazing for h2h, and the DA is pretty big factor of a 6 hit ws. Then add that now we will probably be /nin everywhere..... I think its more fair to do comparison w/o /drg since it really isnt going to be acceptable (if mnk isnt allowed anything but /nin especially at mmj a pup now wont either since our SP should pull hate much easier with our huge dot increase)

I look forward to the math though!

My comparison was w/ /war, which will be continued in a couple hours. I don't use /drg on pup.

Waiting to see if we get A+ or A- h2h, since "A" by itself doesn't exist naturally in the game. Once I know for sure I'll figure out how much more acc is needed to cap on SP and figure out some WS setups

just the melee perspective of which is better should be ample. Thats my main worry anyhow since WS set seems pretty strait forward. Kinda like asuran but I will assume str will be a bigger factor and dex haha.

It very well could be just "A;" after all, PUP's current skill is C, rather than C+/-.

Except that C is a rather common skill rank that multiple jobs have for some type of skill (say, Paladin and Evasion), while A is a skill rank that currently does not exist. Only either A+ or A- exist, and there is no reason for SE to create a completely new skill rank just for PUP's HTH boost.

That's assuming it doesn't already have the formula set up in the system. What if A rank is just unused right now but still there? All they'd have to do is tell the game to use that rank. Chances are it is there, because it wouldn't make sense to just skip it completely if you're making A+ rank anyway when designing skill ranks. But if it doesn't exist even in the system and they're too lazy to add it (i would be too), I could definitely live with A- rank.

Not like we have a huge array of choices for that. I just Swap a +6 Att earring, Gorget, Anwig Salade, Virtuoso Belt, and that's it. I keep Usukane in the other slots. Back in time I didn't bother with other options because of the lack of acc, but it's also true we hardly get lots of options.
Maybe something with the new Synergy pieces? Don't remember the stats on all of those.
As for feet if I recall AF+1 was a decent option, but Usu should be better for SP?

As for the ranks... why did we all got so mental about this inch-by-inch classification? They specified "A rank" because that's how SE call them. A+ and A-, if I recall, are just further classifications done by players, not by SE. For them both are "A" I think, no?
I don't see much sense in making PUP the only job with say 272 skill, what would be the meaning of this? Also I don't completely get what you mean when you say "the rank might be already in game but hidden". What were you actually trying to say?
It's not like SE has a pop up window and an SE employee will click on "h2h skill" next to "pup", open the popup menu and select a Rank from the list lol.
It will be just programmers of SE going inside the table in the DB and manually changing the cap from 225 to something else xD The classification is something they "follow" for the sake of coherence, not something they actually bothered to realize with some CMS-like GUI for programmers to edit jobs' skills :D

Unless they set up their own system where they can put A, A-, or A+ and the system automatically associates that with the equivalent skill cap.

Programmers do stuff like that, helps avoid what we refer to at my job as "fudge fingers."

Om nom nom. Speaking of work, time to head home and play FFXIII. Ciao.
