Either way I'll still be /sch for Accession

And still the 10% casting/recast/spellcost reduction from the arts, the skill bonuses from the arts, conserve MP, Max MP bonus (even so slightly), the list of advantages over convert goes on and on and on.

With how well Scholar was tailored as a support job for White Mage (which, let's be honest, was previously gaining next to nothing from most available subs), I find myself wondering if there's any argument that can be made for /Red Mage that would actually push someone towards wanting it for Convert. I mean, Convert is great and there are honestly times I would really love to have it, but the sheer efficiency of /Scholar between Light Arts, Conserve MP, and judicious use of Penury makes me seriously imagine that the conditions pushing me to the limits of my MP pool are not going to be meaningfully lessened by having a full-powered Convert on a 10 minute timer. Plus, and I know this is a pretty small bonus, but being functionally immune to Sleep as a healer by virtue of Sublimation is something I appreciate immensely. We'd cast marginally faster as /Red Mage, we'd have access to Gravity, Blind, and Bind, we'd get a Magic Attack Bonus trait, and we'd have Convert... is that really enough? I can't really think of where I'd want that, especially without the extra 30 points of Enfeebling skill we have from /Scholar.

Gravity, Blind, and Bind,
Strong plus for /RDM

completely useless for WHM unless fighting undead
Path put it quite well, honestly. Don't really think there is anything left really to add.
IMO, /SCH and /RDM will essentially come down to the enfeebles from /RDM and the sheer efficiency of /SCH. I'll still most likely choose /SCH, though I'll have both available.

I really don't see much of a case for any of those spells. While I can appreciate the utility of a backup plan(which is essentially the only purpose /RDM's bonuses could fulfill), I find it hard to believe that anyone would ever be in a situation where there isn't someone who could do all of those things better, who also is less durable than a WHM.
Put simply, having a backup plan for your backup plan is silly.

You can carry multiple Hi Elixirs. Shit, one vile and one vile +1 is damn near all of your mp restored almost instantly. Why would you ever need to sub rdm for convert? Power leveling?

My real question is in regards to /rdm in the next update with Refresh. Would that over /SCH be more viable by then? I already have the sub leveled for 99 so no worries really although I like /SCH

/SCH is going to be pretty universally better than /RDM for WHM.

you have to spend mp to get mp where subi you dont have to spend mp to get mp so it ant that clear cut.
plus se will most likey not let you sub that spell or let rdms have a stronger one otherwise it starts to kill off rdm's usefullness

dont have to be refersh II but that was one of the things i was pointing at
i think the should release haste II and reconfigure haste amount or or haste fromluas to make room for it. ( to reballance the power off sub / vs main)
this game is going to have a lot of trouble supporting higher level caps properly, my guess SE will suck doing so just for an attempt to get people playing more and milk the game as they make ffXIV.
even now at 80 there is a lot of balance issues perceptually sch and blm, sure there are others though

I agree on all counts. But my standing on this is the same as it's always been. The only "real" reason for this level cap lift, is SE is preparing for a loss in players with the release of XIV, Star Wars, and other MMO's on the horizon within the next year. So with less players, job obsoletion is something I think they are willing to deal with to make things more balanced for a smaller fan base.
