cool thanks for the video. I could almost guarantee that we are getting those spells. Or at least blm will when cap is increased.

Guys, who cares as far as what the pacts are called? How effective they are is what will make the difference. It's not "asking to much" by hoping the avatars get tier V nukes. It does however have massive letdown potential.
Give us some powerful new physical/magical blood pacts and some unique AND useful buffs. Call 'em whatever you want, I'll still be happy xD.

Summoner does need new buffs more than anything else and a boost to the current ones. Hastega will soon be available to every mage class so we've lost all of them. Earthern Ward and Noctoshield need a buff to be on par with SCH's spells and lots of other buffs could use something. I'm hoping for unique looking BPs and not just Tier 5 spells.

might be a little off topic, but I wonder if Alex Odin will grant Favors

Actually.. some of those spells are doubtful... Right there at the end when it showed the status spells there was Curse and Confuse which have both been in the .dat information forever, but never used. Confuse would be a RDM spell, and Curse only if SMN gets Cacodemonia. The last few attack spells are also old elemental spells that will most likely go to SCHs. Though you probably will see the Tier V spells that were show as well as the IVgas and Vgas.

Judging by how then work (if we go by..word for word from what SE has said about them.) Odds are no, unless they give us a new stance. We could use a new JA to allow Odin/Alex to be at our side instead of using them as AF...this is one thing I will hope for in he future.

I understand they don't stay out for long. I'm just wondering if they would have a favor that they could grant for the 3 mins duration that you could possibly keep them out. Remember, the release action was taken by the player in the fanfest video, Alex/Odin didn't summon themselves. So it's possible that they may stay out for the full 3 min duration, during which time their favor (if any) may be useful.

True on the practical side. but we're Summoners, and if we already love the job because of what it has always been in FF's past, then there is bound to be romance in some form.
What's in a name? That which we call Diamond Dust
By any other name would feel as cool.. or would it?
Fancy names are always nicer somehow. Its like if Odin's Zantetsuken was suddenly just named Cut. not as cool lol.

I have my doubts. They are manually released, but then we don't know if they have perpetuation cost.. and since at least Alexander looks immobile, he doesn't look like he'll contribute much to pt buffs. Anyway, if they're set on a 2hr timer, they'd better be really worth using but either way we wont be able to see much use in them.

I think that these avatars can't just be a "one attack every 2 hours" deal. They linked them to Astral Flow because they're clearly better than the other 9 (also another reason why we may get Bahamut too in the future) so maybe they have certain traits to melee/attack better. Alex does look immobile but the Summoner in the video did not move at all, maybe Alex can float around if you move.
Also I think that the perpetuation will probably be the least of our issues when Alex and Odin are involved. If we can indeed keep them out like I believe, HP will be a bigger issue like it used to be for DRG when Call Wyvern was a 2hr.
Don't forget that if we wanna keep one of these out (apparently once you release them Astral Flow ends, no matter how long they've been out) we can't use any other avatar so while we will have 11 pets to call forth (not counting spirits obviously), if we pick Odin or Alexander we'll be limited to only 1.
As a side note... let's leave the nukes to our spirits and get new abilities on our avatars. I'm actually more interested in what Fenrir/Diabolos/Carbuncle are supposed to get.
