If they have an afro hair style I'll definitely be a Lalafel. :P

It would be so awesome if you could make a Lalafel that looks like Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction...

i could see the whole, specialization thing bein kinda like...

no spec, gets tier 1, 2, maybe 3 of all elements

water spec gets 1-4 of the basics, and water ancient magic and such, but only has access to tier 1 of the opposite magic, so a water spec, can only do the shittiest fire spells

I think that's what you're looking for.

I guess that means raising your affinity to an element just makes your magic of that element stronger. The significance of this is the question. my friend was saying they're going to make it so you can raise your affinity to absorption levels, but I don't know.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaang, that sounds sweet, I love that idea and I love how you will be able to choose on what stats you wanna be strong too. I've always hated how summoner has low HP and defense. That's why in FFXI I never wear any gear that lowers HP and I still manage to break the 1k HP/MP as SMN Elvaan.

And OMFG! PHUCK NO to situational gear. If there was one thing I hated about FFXI it was that. I REFUSED to use situational gear on FFXI except for SMN's elemental staves, and other minimal stuff, as gimped as I was I'd only wear one set of gear for each job 'cause I hated looking like a dumb ass. The gear with the best stats made you look like a clown.....ie walmart turbant or O hat for example.

Oh and when you said absorption levels did you mean that you can get to the point that an elemental attack will heal you? (FF8 style) 'Cause that would be sick

I think it will. Seems like they are implying that, at the very least, you'll get high resistance to elements you have affinity too. I mean, sounds like they want to take it to the point where people are literally as attributed to elements as monsters are in FFXI.

And yeah... situation gear is BS.. Though I personally like the O-Hat. >_>

This is what I have to agree with. I hated PLD and BLU once I started doing endgame more frequent since they were the two biggest gear whores I played. I'll admit I turned COR into a gear whore by choice since I had fun with it.
