Well considering that our matons will be getting a defense boost as well as attachment tweak, do you think pup will become more viable as a sub? I found it to be a thoroughly enjoyable sub for whm (altho I wouldnt use it for anything serious) it did provide some interesting abillities like double na spells or mini cure bombs. down side was puppets could take *maybe* a single aoe and still stand. With the enhanced equalizer and shock absorber, this may not be as big an issue.
Also there is the lvl cap increase which might add some neat new things.
I know not getting my hopes up but meh can dream

Well, it's already a good sub for any healing job provided your out of range of aoe's or there are no aoe's going on, I guess what your saying is will it become more viable in situation's where it would take aoe. As a sub I don;t really think so, even with increased defense at a max sub level of 49... it's still not going to matter lol.
I hope however it will help in situations where as PUP main you can go into heavy aoe fights and be useful.

I solo 1-10 on all jobs pretty much with /PUP. RNG frame 1-shots most EP-DC mobs 1-7

yeah 1-10 pup sub is pretty broken, but after that it starts to suck.
since pets wont be getting much of a dmg boost i doubt we'll be seeing viabillity for rng pet past 10

If any healer ever uses /PUP in a serious situation, they need to be deleveled back to 1. Any sub, whether it be BLM, RDM, SMN, WHM, or SCH, will provide more healing support than /PUP. I'm sorry, but as a WHM whos played as WHM from day one, /SCH's GIGANTIC amounts of bonuses far outweight a puppet who will cast Cure II on the wrong target every now and then.

I can't remember if the Soulsoother was pre-WotG, but if it was, that window between the soulsoother and /sch would have been the time to see whm/pup.
I think the idea would have been to have a few extra flashes and cures, and two mp bars recovering instead of one. I've never done this, as I've never taken whm past 37, just supposin'.
That being said, I know a few whms that probably should /pup. They watch that status bar like a hawk, and know the second refresh wears, but the party's hp? Why pay attention to that?

Lv49 PUP sub would bring Cure IV and Knockout, right? But even then, I think either Accession from SCH sub or Refresh/Fast Cast/Convert from RDM sub would still completely eclipse anything the automaton could ever offer (especially since the mage automaton flaws are in the AI, not the attachments.)

there is one pretty decent benefit to /pup which is the eraser, if u get silenced your pet can silena you pretty much right away, when i exp'd /pup this did happen a couple of times and saved me some echo's.
nothing to scream about but was pretty convenient. pet can also use some regens which are nice.
overall tho I do agree /sch /blm /smn offers more mp and spell choices, added with somewhat retarded AI makes it a difficult sub to pick
maybe with some AI tweaks....?

This late in the game? GL getting that. I'm just glad seeing that PUP gets something at least besides the abundant amount of attachments this time.
