So Ive decided to Duo BST with my girlfriend. All we really want is to beat the entire games story. What lvl will we have to be in order to accomplish this? Do you have to be 75 in order to kill certain bosses from any of the story lines missions? Can we duo all of FFXI bosses or will we need help. And also is it smart to go Duo BST and use BST for the story or are we better off going as me a Tank/dps Melee and her a whm or rdm healer of some sort? Please keep in mind all we want to do is beat the missions nothing more. If we can do this without hitting 75 then thats great if not thats still great. Either way I have to beat the story!

BST duo will only get you so far. I'd level something a bit more desireable if you want to do story.

Well we dont really care what we are no desires needed. Just want something quick and easy for two beginners to lvl. Were not rich in gil and cant really duo the more advanced jobs (NIN and RNg is out of the picture). Would a PLD with a RDM or WHM be good to lvl with, or would that be slow to lvl? Maybe War/Mnk for DPS and Rdm/whm for heals?

PLD and WHM are pretty quick to level. And if your main focus is story you don't need a lot of high notch gear.

Every mission/expansion is different. Party setups and strategy will differ from fight to fight and expansion to expansion. Some storylines progress strangely, where some fights are way tougher than the ones that follow. There's a lot of job discrimination in the playerbase, especially for the CoP missions, so don't be surprised if you have trouble progressing with that storyline (until the June update when they are removing at least part of the level cap from that expansion). However, I've also seen BST duo decimate a number of the city storyline missions (except for the final ones that require almost a full party).

But keep in mind that they're upping the level cap soon, and that may make this entire discussion moot. Level 99 BST duo would probably be able to pwn most of the existing missions.

You mean to say there not gonna increase mob levels or difficulty in missions? I really hope not that would be great.

I kinda hope they'll level cap the existing missions at 75. otherwise I'm gonna nerd rage over countless hours spent shouting for mission parties in Jeuno so long ago.

One positive of leveling BST is the amount of seals you will earn which will, if you are willing to level another job, give you the money necessary to level it.
