I wasn't trying to one up him. I just decided it was best not to continue the argument from my side.

Is it just me or do atheists and agnostics have no respect for a person who believes in God? We are entitled to our opinion but it just seems like in their eyes a person like me is lesser than they are.
I have no respect for one who tries to state-ordain their own beliefs because such beliefs are incapable of standing on their own merits, and because practitioners require the mandate of earthly authority to shore up the bastion of their faith. Both religion and state become vitiated when one-sided attempts to meld the world of man and God converge with the sole, demonic purpose of eviscerating human liberty. Evangelicals who pine for further masturbatory mention of their pet deity accomplish naught but the revolting systematization and bureaucratization of cherished, deeply personal beliefs. The separation of church and state exists for every bit as much, if not more, benefit of the religious as it does for the secular.
I betcha didn't know I have been neither an atheist or an agnostic for more than two years. I'll no more allow the idiotic the right to blaspheme my Divine with their hollow, pithy selfishness than I would allow them encroach upon my right to disbelief more than two years past. Fundamentalists seeking state-ordained religion have long forsaken their God, and instead turn to the authority of bureaucratic institutions to shore up their faith.
We are a nation of laws, not men, and not unprovable opinions as to the nature of the cosmos. Inasmuch as science is incapable of grasping the Sacred. so too are governmental bodies. I don't disrespect you, merely beliefs which are aimed at their own eventual self-destruction, towards which Fundamentalists have been tirelessly toiling. They already have a martyr, why they would seek to martyr their own beliefs is beyond me. I just assume they're fucking retarded and that they hate their own God.
10 bonus points to the first person that guesses my religious/spiritual/spaghetti monster affiliation.

Oh, yeah?! Well, you're not invited to my Messiah MansionTM Deathday Extravaganza post-death. You'll have to sit outside on the gold-paved roads, with [insert Super-Buddha-Jesus-Elohim-God-of-Choice here] wiping your tears from your face, you bastard.

Those are MY gold-paved roads. I'll need loitering taxes before any such teary lamenting.

Jesus wept.
And then filled out an I-1040b form to cover the cost of His tears.
