I want to know what would be the ULTIMATE melee set for RDM?
Assuming every item in the game is at your fingertips what would you do to make the ultimate setup?
Mine would be this...
RDM/NIN
Excalibur/Kraken Club
Fortitude Torque
Suppanomimi
Brutal Earring
Augmented body possibly?
Dusk Gloves +1
Raja's Ring
Mars Ring
Cerb Mantle +1
N-sash
Nashira Seraweels
Dust Feet +1
I have been away from the game for a while so I am not caught up with some of the newer items but I think this is a pretty good setup if you could get all those items.
Anyone else think they can top it?
Ultimate RDM Melee setup?

Cuchulain's mantle instead of Cerb +1, and Ancient torque instead of Fortitude torque.

Mantle makes sense, torque does not.
IIRC 7 skill is > 9 acc and also helps damage too.
Torque is better then PCC because of this unless your going for dual acc from PCC.

No.
You'll really want that Acc for the KClub, and it's 11 Acc too with the 4 Dex.
And that Skill really isn't gonna help that much with the damage... :/
I agree with the suggestions for your "Ultimate Build," but I think I'd also advise a Toreador's instead of Rajas.
For a body, Royal Redingote with Dual Wield Delay -3% and Acc+10 could be really nice, or a Goliard Saio for Haste+4%.
I'm just concerned with the Acc you have in the set atm, could maybe even want to use a Hollow Earring (Dex+2, Acc+3, Spell Dmg+3) instead of the Brutal to help the KClub.

Shit is situational.
Are you tanking, are you solo, are you purely DD, what buff you are getting, is accuracy capped etc?
But here is a pretty good generic RDM/WAR assuming accuracy not really a concern and neither is protection:
Excalibur
Sentinel
Astrolabe
Walahra Turban
Ancient Torque
Brutal Earring
Merman
Goliard Saio
Dusk Gloves +1
Rajas + Mars
Cuchulain's Mantle (or Cerb +1)
N.Sash
Tatsu. Sitagoromo (Haste+3% and Accuracy+7)
Dusk Ledelsens +1
That’s 26% haste, 16 hit build.
If you went for a /DRG build then you can swap
* Merman for Wyvern
* Golaird for Morrigans or Scorpion +1 (depending on acc)
* Possibly keep Sentinel (0.75 fSTR) or Tariqah +1 if you need the acc.
Sea Torques are NOT as good as PCC in terms of accuracy, and no where near Ancient Torque.
Mandau is also a decent option if you fancy it.
Dual welding isn’t a good idea for RDM as when we do melee, most of our damage comes from the TP phase so using a Kclub (which has crap DoT) isn’t going to a very good option from a parsing point of view (although it would be fun).

I am wondering for joy/justice would fortitude torque or peacock charm be a better choice?

Joy
Sentinel Shield
-
Tiphia Sting
Walmart
Ancient
Suppa
Hollow
Goliard
Dusk +1
Toredor
Rajas/Toredor/Fencer (Acc capped/yellow hp)
Cerb+1
Vbelt
ASA legs (7acc 3haste)
Dusk+1
That is +26% Haste (capped) +33 ACC (before dex) +34ATK
Composure +15 ACC
/DNC +10 acc
(max haste =70% with a 1.06 second joyeuse swing time)
(this ideally as a support melee providing -25% DEF, -15% ACC, -20%Resistance, @ 90/45 providing 20% haste. All on 1 job.)

Or you could DW and do more damage.
Actually it depends, like every thing else.
If you are in group with friends (or happen to be with randoms) and you are getting 2 march, haste samba + your spell you are going to be attacking around every second. Compared to DW where you are looking at about a little under 2 seconds. This means faster enspell damage, (using ENII which gives more damage than ENI when using the joyeuse in 1 hand and lets you get samba on the off swing) faster TP (taking into account the joyeuse DA rate and ACC you are getting 6TP about every .75 of a second) which means faster and more WS's.
In low haste (under 50%) DW wins, over 50%-70% Joyeuse SW wins. If COR gets a 5-15% haste roll, than DW catches back up at 80% however it will not be ahead, it just catches back up to par.

Also, who is going to give a melee rdm all of those buffs? lol

given all that haste, wouldn't excal still be the choice for dmg, given the add effect? or is the DoT of the enspells still that much better....
